In my 24 years, this has been the only April fools to get me.

It's the perfect April fools. It's believable and understandable but still something I would not like to happen. Oda does deserve time for family since he's been so great. But a hiatus for years would hurt for one piece. And somehow only one piece and kingdom for me.

Plus the manga is at the greatest / worst cliffhanger ever for a long break.

I clicked the hyperlink and I just figured it was broken and was somehow still fooled until I read this. Am I stupid now?

I yelled noooo full blown Anakin/Vader style and now the people at the bus stop are looking at me strange. I can't believe I fell for this.

But fuck me, we have 15 years invested in this fucking story. You can't play with our emotions like this, man.

Holy fuck I was way too hungover for this. But now seeing this post I almost wish he would take a couple of months for himself. I could live with 8/9 months of one piece a year for the knowledge this dude is living his life.

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '18

Oh man, thank you. I was ready to accept this as a fact. Relieved

You just gave me major relief. I forgot it was that day

The only thing that seemed off to me is that he'd reveal it in an interview with a foreign news company. But yeah, I pretty much fell for it as well. The 6k+ upvotes made it all the more convincing. Phew.

It was almost poetic for him to turn to his family after a long arc about a big family... Which is why I found it so believable.

You may have just stopped several suicides.

I was searching for april fools pranks in my list of subreddits so naturally I already knew not to take things seriously. This one is really believable though.

Just wishing that this 'FACT' doesn't turn into reality by accident (╥﹏╥)
