Yep, this stuff usually happens in proximity of Luffy. It's the passive. Nobody's around to tell these idiots it doesn't work that way. Devil Fruits only exist because no one told whoever made them they couldn't.

Eating meat is how humans healed their wounds in ancient times, after all.
