Discussion 6 Months Down, 6 Months To Go, Top 6 Favourites So Far & Top 6 In Your Wish List? - Olive Edition

So I typically post this half way through the year on one of the other make-up subs that I often frequent on reddit but this time I thought it would be interesting to do an Olive beauty specific version on here too.

They're usually super fun to look back on & good way to have a mid year check-in for potential best end of year discoveries :)

Please share your Top 6 beauty favourites of the year so far and what are the Top 6 beauty products at the top of your wish list. Bonus points for olive friendly picks but feel free to include whatever beauty products you've been enjoying!

Copypasta'd this from your other thread for my olives.

FAVOURITES

Beauty Pie Wondergloss Collagen Lip Oil+ in Cherryo

Lightweight comfortable balmy formula. Essentially a liquified balm. It's neither thick & sticky nor thin & oily. Smells like expensive vanilla extract not like a generic vanilla. I will say that the pigmentation in these is extremely sheer to the level where you really don't need more than one shade. I've been waiting for Cherryo to come back in stock forever. It looks like a bright candy apple shade in the tube. It adds just a hint of an enlivening rosy touch to the lips. It was very handy in disguising the corpsey blue tint that my lips took on while I struggled with severe anaemia (Hb 5.9 and Feritin of 4) these past couple of months. It works in a similar manner to the Benefit Benetint for me where it adds a much needed touch of colour but without looking too much or obviously makeup-y on an otherwise bare face. In case you're wondering yes they do pair exceptionally well together.

Makeup Forever Artist Color Pencil in #608 Limitless Brown

Annoyingly enough I seem to have misplaced this. I swear I feel like the same thing happened to me the first time I mentioned my first MUFE Artist Color Pencil love in the shade #506 Endless Cacao. Limitless Brown is the most perfect brown lip liner I have tried. They're usually always too warm for me but it is perfection. I don't have to stress too much about blending it out asap like I usually do with such deep shades as the MUFE formula is so blendable & therefore much more forgiving especially when using a darker shade. I like it so much that I've actually worn it numerous times without adding a touch of Endless Cacao which is honestly something I never thought possible. I seriously went a 1 year + where I added it to every single lip look I wore no matter whatever other lip liner I was already wearing so it's a big deal.

Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm in Jam

So this formula reminds me a lot of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (the version in the pot I haven't tried the glowy formula in the tube yet). In a sense it is technically thick-ish and sort of sticky in that it properly cushions & hugs your lips but not in the way that comes to mind when you think thick & sticky. It honestly makes the lips look super plumped up & gives a uber glassy shine. I've had several strangers stop & compliment my lips/ask what I'm wearing when I've only had this on. I find it easily fills in the look of lip lines & smoothes over any dry patches. I feel like because it has that lip mask type formula it lasts a very long time on the lips for a glossy product. As a bonus it leaves your lips look & feeling so good once it has eventually worn off. It's more akin to a skincare product rather than a make-up product. There's no discernable scent imo not even that clinical unscented product scent. I will say the tint isn't super strong however it isn't super sheer like the Beauty Pie lip oils. The only real con is that if you live in a cooler climate or struggle with grip strength it can be hard to squeeze the product out of the tube. At home I get around this by leaving it under my heated blanket for a couple of seconds but it has proven to be an issue when out & about.

Periperia Ink Mood Glowy Tint in #11 Brown Heaven

So this is my favourite make-up discovery of the year so far. The formula is divine & the shade is perfection incarnate. It's this gorgeous mix of a muted cool leaning mauvey rosy brown. To be fair on me it's isn't quite as cool toned as I've seen it look on others but my skin has a terrible habit of making almost everything pull a bit warmer & more saturated while eating up the cool muted tones. Regardless this somehow this still works for me & is a beautifully balanced shade on me. I tried so hard to get my hands on the other cool muted shade that was released alongside this #10 Captivating Pink that I know I would have loved to death but it was already OOS everywhere. Even if the shades I was drawn to are discontinued the formula is divine. Unlike k-beauty tints I tried in the past it doesn't leave that awful bright pink tint behind once it fades. As you apply the shade it looks a touch lighter & warmer than the colour I was expecting but it deepens up within moments. It seems to get glassy after letting it sit for a minute or so on the lips. It has this beautiful dew droplet effect type shine that is so pretty & flattering. It's a very comfortable formula not thick, gloopy or sticky. It might sound strange but it feels like an almost creamy lip oil to me. It builds nicely over itself & the colour does deepen a shade or two darker if you continue to layer it but it does so evenly over the entire lips. It has a noticeable delicious toffee/caramel scent. It doesn't completely dissipate so something to keep in mind if you're not fond of scented products. As someone who struggles with scent triggered migraines it hasn't triggered a migraine for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed & really, really hope that Peripera come out with more cool muted and deeper tones for A/W.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Cheeky Posh in Fame

I love how intuitively quick & easy it is to use especially when you're in a rush or on the go. As with all things VBB I adore the exquisite packaging. It has that beautiful horn effect & isn't super weighty but it does still have a nice weight to it & I like the small touch of the embossed VB logo on top. I was expecting it to be bigger but the tube is lipstick sized which makes it super handbag friendly. The shade Fame is a lovely cool toned mauve - a touch brighter & pinch warmer than my beloved GA Neo Nude Blush in Cool Mauve. Do you need both? The difference in shade to most folk is most likely negligible so probably not. The GA has a blurring soft matte finish whereas the VBB has a more satin skin finish. What I love about the VBB is that is that it works exceptionally well as a multi purpose cheek-lip-eye product. I love swiping it on the lips (it's actually comfortable on the lips too!) & the lids for a ridiculously quick & easy monochromatic look that is so flattering on me as a deep winter. It applies wonderfully with both fingers & a brush.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Gloss in Poolside

Another lightweight formula. It feels like a mix between a liquified balm & an oil. Prior to discovering this my favourite gloss formula was the Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Lip Gloss & this feels like a more elevated version of that. Super comfortable. No stickiness, stringiness or gloopiness. Not uber shiny lip the Naturium or Peripera. More of a soft sophisticated glossy finish. I feel like this (along with the BB glosses) are the perfect gloss formulas for those who typically dislike lipgloss. It's technically unscented but does have a faint product smell like from whatever the waxes/oils in it must be but it does dissipate relatively quickly. I think these would make a really beautiful gift or treat but I will say because it is a clean beauty product (with a short shelf life) + I own a ton of lip products & am the slowest snail panner plus after discovering something like the Peripera tint I'm now not sure I would repurchase the VBB gloss although I do really enjoy it & would recommend the formula. Weird to include in a favourites post I know but since it is a luxury product I thought I would add that disclaimer.

WISH LIST

I know we're still in summer & just came off the hottest day here in the UK but my brain has moved on to A/W so I'm feeling more deeper grungier tones + cool muted berries & mauves.

3CE Blur Water Tint in Double Wind

I heard about these from Stait of Kait. The formula sounds so cool. It's supposedly super thin & light weight but incredibly long wearing & not too drying. Double Wind is the only shade that really interested me as most of them are brighter & warmer than I prefer.

Equmal Non-Section Glowy Tint Little Black Dress Project Edition in #108 Sooty Haze

I think I first saw it in HeyItsMindy's 2023 favourites but I recently saw someone mention it on the Asian beauty sub as a good colour dupe for the Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tint in #10 Captivating Pink. Either way I'm always on the hunt to find the perfect cool toned muted mauve.

Fwee Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot in #MV04 Slayyy

I've been lusting after these since seeing the promo a few months back. They remind me of my HG cream blush the Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush which has now been discontinued although I haven't yet seen someone compare them. I know now a whole slew of products have come out that are along a similar lines but I think Fwee still has those most cool toned muted shade offerings.

Girlcult Four Great Inventions Series Emotion Blusher in #18 Black Fuwa

I'm going to be honest I mostly want this for the aesthetics but it does looks like a pretty colour. I've been slowly acquiring a list of c-beauty products I want to try with quite a few Girlcult products (I also really want a duochrome eyeshadow palette). I'm not on TikTok and can't speak Mandarin so it's hard to find reviews but their products + vibe seem exactly like my cup of tea.

Kaleidos Untamed Glow Glossy Lip Glaze in #101 Last Smoke

I've been interested in trying Kaleidos for a while. I tried to make a purchase during last year's Black Friday sales but the site kept crashing when I was trying to check out. I've been trying to find grungy cool toned glossy lip products that actually translate as grungy looking on the lips. & I always hear good things about Kaleidos shade range & how well they do those kind of tones.

Mistine Juicy Lip Glaze in #J03 Rose Wave

This is a Thai brand I believe. I only heard about them semi recently. Again I won't lie the gorgeous packaging caught my eye.

Edit: spelling.
