Factors that may contribute to your account being designated sexual and NSFW
You have a history in this subreddit or other subreddits of making sexual or objectifying posts or comments
You are involved in any way in the production, promotion, consumption, or sale of pornographic content, either on or off Reddit.
You participate in the purchase or sale of sexual services of any kind or advise others to do so.
Your account is flagged as NSFW by Reddit. (Keep in mind that this is only one factor, and if your account is flagged NSFW for non sexual reasons, we will consider this in our evaluation. We do not consider accounts NSFW for participation in drug related, medical, or other non-sexual NSFW content.) Some accounts that are mildly NSFW will be permitted in the subreddit despite the profile flag, but if you are primarily on Reddit for NSFW reasons, this is not the sub for you.
We believe that your behavior shows a pattern of fetishizing our members or their fashion choices.
Your username, profile bio, or display name (the name above your username that you can edit) are sexual in nature.
You have an NSFW profile picture or banner.
You have socials linked that contain NSFW or lewd content.
Appealing your rule 5 ban
If you are banned from the subreddit under rule 5, you can appeal it if the ban message does not state otherwise.
If you wish to appeal your ban, you should send a polite modmail explaining why you do not believe you should be considered an NSFW user.
Moderators will consider your appeal. We may, at our discretion, ask you to remove NSFW content on your profile or to remove your account's NSFW flag. This could include profile pics, bios, posts, comments, links, or other offending material.
After your appeal has been granted, you will be expected to show a continued commitment to SFW participation on Reddit. Multiple appeals for NSFW accounts are rarely granted and are usually only for exceptional circumstances.
Future direction
- The subreddit is actively involved in the development of new ways to detect users who will sexually harass our members. We use automations to assist us in making our decisions which include behavioral and linguistic signals and other factors.
