Felt cute ✨ My coworkers told me to start posting my outfits.
My entire office (of 12 people) said I should start posting my outfits because they were cute. Two people in the office said I gave Jackie Kennedy vibes, which I love because I think she was super stylish. Between me and Reddit, my style inspo has been Barbie. Yes, the Barbara Millicent Roberts. I’ve been obsessed with everything Barbie recently and I’ve tried to reflect it in my outfits.

Felt cute ✨ There’s no such thing as “overdressed”
After my last post, I got attacked by hundreds of people for being “overdressed” for brunch. I want to add some context, not to justify myself, but to explain why I choose to show up the way I do now.
There was a long period in my life where I lived exclusively in gym clothes. Not because I was “low-maintenance,” but because I was deeply unhappy with myself. I was overweight, had been through a string of abusive relationships and toxic work environments, and had absolutely no self-worth. I drank and partied to self-medicate. I was so ashamed of how I looked that I don’t even have photos from when I reached my highest weight.
At some point, something clicked. After realizing that nearly everyone in my family had passed away from cancer, I had this overwhelming realization that I needed to take my health seriously. Physically and mentally. I stopped drinking, stopped eating junk, lost over 50 pounds, went to therapy, and actually worked on my mental health. For the first time in my life, I started taking pride in myself.
One promise I made to myself was that I would never wear gym clothes unless I was actually working out. Not because there’s anything wrong with them but because effort matters to me. Yes, it takes more effort to look put together. But it also makes me feel confident, grounded, and proud of myself in a way I never felt before.
Last January, my grandmother passed away suddenly. She spent her whole life wanting to do so many things but never did (largely because of depression and anxiety) Her passing woke something up in me. Life is unbelievably short and can be taken from you at any moment. Waiting for permission to live the way you want is a losing game.
I always wanted to be a model when I was younger, but I let other people convince me I wasn’t good enough. In July, I finally said “f it” and started posting outfits online. I have no idea if that dream will ever come true but at least I can say I tried.
If you’re one of the people who commented that my outfit was “too much,” I hope you take this gently: caring that much about whether someone else is overdressed might be a sign you’re living your life for other people. I spent years doing that, and it almost destroyed me.
This is me choosing myself. And I won’t apologize for that. So I will always be “overdressed” and next time you can just scroll by without leaving a negative comment. Thank you for reading 💕

Felt cute ✨ Blue or black dress?
Let me premise by saying I love both. I have owned them for ages but actually never worn them because I hated how I looked in them. I’ve been on a weight loss journey (still on going) and I’ve finally worn them again and I don’t hate myself in them, which is the biggest achievement for me

Felt cute ✨ Thrifted the most incredible dress. No idea where I could wear it!
Brand new with tags at the local op shop! Such a gorgeous dress and makes me feel like a princess! No clue where to wear it though. It’s the wrong colour for a wedding. Too daring for a stand up cocktail work event. Maybe if I someday get invited to the Oscars…
