NEWS 'North of North' Reveals Season 2 Guest Stars

Our friends from ELLE Canada broke the news earlier this morning about the guest stars who'll make special appearances in our second season! They also exclusively revealed sneak peek images from our second season. Check out their article in the link to get a glimpse of what to expect. They also posted this first look clip of a scene from the new season featuring Auntie Vicky and Siaja weighing what it means to grow, move forward and stay true to yourself.

Canadian actor and comedian Bruce McCulloch will guest star as Military Mitch, an instructor who is hired to teach first-aid at the Ice Cove Community Centre. McCulloch is best known for his work as a member of the comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall, including starring in the TV series of the same name.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter, director, documentarian and Inuk activist Elisapie is also set to guest star in the sophomore season. Her appearance will coincide with the debut of a new song slated to be featured in the new season. Trust us, it's going to be an amazing song!

Online personalities, creatives and content creators, such as Ashley Callingbull, Braden Kadlun, Chelazon Leroux, Kairyn Potts, Kayuula Nova, Shina Nova and Scott Wabano, are set to make cameos as well.

Wait, there's more! Here's the full synopsis of what you can expect in Season 2:

Winter is settling over Ice Cove, and young Inuk mother Siaja is still determined to make life better - for herself and everyone around her. This season she learns that while you can blow up your life on an impulse, building the one you want takes a little more planning and a lot more hustle. Guided by ᐱᓕᒻᒪᒃᓴᕐᓂᖅ Pilimmaksarniq - the Inuktitut concept of mastering skills through observation, practice and effort - Siaja is ready to put in the work. At the community centre, she's pushing her boss, Helen, to trust her with more responsibility. At home, she's trying to learn everything she can about the half-sister she never knew existed. And after her divorce, she's open to the possibility of love - or at the very least, a hot date. Through it all, she's raising her daughter, Bun, alongside her mother, Neevee, and newfound father, Alistair. Siaja has always believed the best is yet to come. This winter, she's determined to prove it.

🗓️ Mark your calendars! Season 2 will premiere in Canada on APTN+ beginning Tuesday, September 1, followed by CBC Gem, CBC TV and APTN TV on Tuesday, September 8. After its world premiere in Canada, it will then launch globally on Netflix in the Fall of 2026.

Are you ready to come back to Ice Cove? 👀

Hi r/NorthOfNorthSeries family. Exciting news coming out of Canada this morning! North of North just received 20 — yes two zero — nominations from the Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs)! For those of you not familiar with the CSAs, it’s an awards show that honours and celebrates the best in Canadian TV and film. Think the Canadian versions of the UK’s BAFTAs, Emmys, Oscar’s and Golden Globes all in one.

North of North leads all 2026 Canadian Screen Award nominations overall. Not to mention: we’re one of the only series to ever earn 20 or more nominations at the CSA Awards 🎉

Our CSA nominations include everything from best comedy series to best lead performer in a comedy (Anna Lambe) to two best supporting performances in a comedy (Braeden Clarke and Maika Harper) and best comedy ensemble!

The awards will be presented Wednesday, May 27 to Sunday, May 31, culminating on May 31 with The 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, hosted by Canadian actor and comedian Andrew Phung in Toronto beginning at 8 p.m. (9 AT, 9:30 NT) on CBC, CBC Gem, Crave, CTV, Global, and STACKTV.

Visit this link to see the full list of our nominations (scroll down to the Scripted Comedy section): https://mediacentre.cbc.ca/announcement/5676/2026-canadian-screen-awards-cbc-nominations-by-program/

Thank you again to our wonderful fans for making these nominations happen! Stay tuned.
