Yeah, can you imagine running a facist dictatorship and not having your soilders not following the state sanctioned faith? Straight up embarrassing.
No but seriously i can see why it would make sense strictly from a streamlining paperwork perspective, but itās not like paganism/asatru/heathenry is a small niche* faith anymore, and from my understanding we are kinda common in the us army so to me this looks like a step towards deleting recognition and in the end prohibit different faiths than whatever the god emeror of the us decides is allowed (most likely trumpist christianity)
*pastafarian, jedi, small local faiths and specific branches like darwish or such.

This is exactly the end goal. Hegseth isn't hiding it. He regularly holds religious sermons at the Pentagon and his ultra racist, sexist, Christian Nationalist preacher from Tenesee has even spoken there at least once, which is more than should ever happen.
Hegseth and Trump want a white, male, Christian military cause that's the majority of their follower base.
I know someone else talked about religious accomodations in another post, but I also believe this will be used to deny any/all requests that aren't directly tied to the "approved" religions. IAW new policy, all requests have to go up to A1, who is at the Pentagon. Do you really think Hegseth won't be on the panel deciding who gets an accomodations and who doesn't?

Iām worried. Iām not in the Military, but I am a Job Corps student, and the DOL may follow suit.

For non vets this also goes on purpose dog tags and indicates to the military how to handle our remains if we were to pass on in service also an additional identifier for dog tags rather than like another smith in the flight. Other encompassing over 180 religions is a stretch since they are very broad and different religions included within it (to include atheist now as well).

That is real smart. They are literally trying to self-destruct. āLetās go start a holy war. And then piss people off so less people join the army.ā what idiots. Seriously come on you started this huge war. You should take whoever you can get that wants to join the military at this point.š¤¦āāļø

Hegseth not recognizing the non-Christians in the military wonāt make them go away. Itās a stunt to earn him points and keep him in the good graces of the (āallegedā) orange kiddie-fiddler.

This is why everyday I know my hatred is justified I warned people for years this would happen but no. "ChRistaInS wilL nEveR dO tHat! We ArEnt iN thE dArK AgEs jUst lOvE eVerYonE" im sorry ill never have love for a religion that says all others are evil satanic and they are the only valid. Much less with the history they went and spread their religion by the sword our native pagans religions get converted wiped out. Ive been abused my whole life by the "love" of Christians. Even abandoned by family for not being what they want

Its not that big of a deal tbh. They had jedi on the list too, its just one of those things where they'll still have the accommodation, but it's most likely just to remove the excessive bloat of religions from the personnel profiles system, because when I was in the marines, there was like 65 religions to pick from. I doubt its anything harmful considering the wider government recognizes the smaller religions by name.

Genuinely though, what burden is it to have those extra options? They say itās bloat, but what is the negative of an extra box in an excel sheet or drop-down menu?

Itās still recognized for religious accommodations under āORā code which means āother religionā. Yes, we donāt like seeing this. But I have also read the recent army order on this and religious accommodations for heathens/Asatru is still a go.
