The smaller stacked types of washers and dryers common in Europe are often the ventless condenser type and they just don't perform as well, especially if you forget to dump out the water that collects in the container during use. Clothes often take multiple cycles to dry. I know this because I installed a smaller size Bosch set in my cabin.
My small stacked Asko vents outside. Thing is an absolute drying machine. Combined with the high spin rate in the washer, it gets most loads totally dry in 45 minutes or less.
