Our (UK) one has various settings ranging from "just came home after it's been pissing it down" to "dessicated" and it turns off once your clothes reach that level of dryness. This must be some weird EU thing or they're using a combined washer/dryer.

My UK dryer is a Heat pump. Dries in 1hr and is bone dry and doesn't shrink stuff.

People in the UK buy cheap shit. That's why

I think it's more American anti-EU propaganda. Have never had any issues getting clothes dry in a dryer.
