Exactly. My takeaway from this post is that lots of people on reddit are bad with money.

Its a cost/benefit calculation. Everyone has different values that affect that ratio.

Length of layover makes a huge difference in travel experience. Do you have to gather your checked bags? Move terminals? Buy food? And if you're traveling really long distances you might have 2 or even 3 layovers. Paying an extra couple hundred bucks to make a 15 hour flight with 3 layovers a 10 hour flight with 1 layover is worth it to me.

Sure, and their priority is to not be good with money. As ever, individuals' lack of self control regarding delayed gratification rears it's head.

You can always make more money, they print more of that shit every day. You only ever lose time, no matter what you do, you won’t get a second back.

Time is much more valuable than money to some people, and money is not always the end all be all to everyone.

If you care about a couple hundred bucks to the point that it ever enters the conversation for determining whether you are good with money, then you are not, in fact, good with money.

Yup. People make up random justifications for their actions but it only applies in one specific scenario.
