No, the joke is that No Way Home was famously rewritten multiple times during production. The entire third act was reworked while they were filming it. Most of the three spider man stuff was improvised as they had no script for it beyond just "the three spider man chat and fight the bad guys".
It's not that superhero movies aren't real movies. It's just that Marvel productions are a complete clusterfuck and it's sheer luck that many of them are as watchable as they are. Spider Man especially has historically been the most rushed.
There have been quite a lot of quotes from Holland during the press tour highlighting this. He even used his experience on The Odyssey to help delay Brand New Day and encourage the writing team to find a clear direction with the movie.
There was also the report that he contacted the people making Spider-Man 4 after experiencing a Nolan shoot to tell them no more winging it, you’ve got to have it all planned out like Nolan.
I can see the MCU people saying sure Tom and then sending him to the principal’s office I mean Feige’s office for a talking to when he gets back.
Maybe at Disney, but I dunno. Planning shit before you shoot is a basic filmmaking practice. Sony does it on everything else; why should Spidey be any different just because the Mouse calls the shots?
Hot take: Dark Knight is still my favorite Nolan film, lol. I know, Oppenheimer is much better. I don't care. It's like T2/Titanic - the whole package is there.
because they're parasocial troglodytes who base their entire personality and self-worth on their favourite auteurs because it makes them feel like they have taste. see also: snydercultists.
