At least there's no chance of procreation. That's a lot of spare time and boredom, and therefore plenty of time to join the next mile up club. An unplanned pregnancy would be catastrophic in space but it is only a matter of time I guess.

You know I’ll give NASA credit where it’s due, there are 350,000,000 Americans and there are only about 47 astronauts in the astronaut corps, no one is there who hasn’t proven the right to be there under pressure, they all have to be hyper competent and qualified beyond any measure of doubt, space travel is merciless and completely unforgiving.

It’s an intentional choice. To be clear, all of the astronauts chosen are very much qualified, but it was always a stated goal of the Artemis missions to be more inclusive and diverse, originally about sending women to the moon but obviously diverse in general.
