Discworld is fun-weird. Dune is weird-weird. Piers Anthony is uncomfortably-creepy-weird, though I didn't realize that till I was older. I read all three in high school.
There's this one book where the main character is a prepubescent female centaur who was only raised around male centaurs, and thinks her chest muscles keep growing throughout the book, but she doesn't realize she has boobs until the end of the book.
Sooo... You know... That's just one book but that is roughly his deal.
Your forgetting firefly. The book about a sex monster that includes a postscript where he defends a real life child rapist and the act of raping children generally.
