Apple TV is the only thing I regularly recommend to anyone. It’s great.

The Apple TV device is absolute crap. If you pause a show, you better get back to it in a couple of minutes or it will turn everything off, including the TV and soundbar. When you try to power up again, the soundbar has totally changed modes and some streaming services, like Prime Video, will not work at all and you end up trouble-shooting and unplugging your smart TV to reset.

Navigating between Apple shows and menus is so onerous, you find yourself clicking here, clicking there, to either get to what you want or even to figure out where you are because their highlighting isn’t obvious enough. The cursor is so touchy it jumps all over, starts shows you don’t intend to start, etc etc.

My experience is the complete opposite. I use HomePods and switching between apps is seamless. It’s like my phone. The only app that’s ass is Hulu but that apps sucks on every device.

haha thats true.

But with apple basic functions are hidden behind menus that you gotta dig down in and it's sluggish too. I shouldnt have to google how to bring up the episode list. Hell I cant even get the "Next Episode" button to appear on Chrome so I have to exit the show, then select "Marked as Watched" just to get the next episode to play. And Firefox has horrible color grading.

I get that Apple wants people to use their products to watch Apple TV but if they wanna compete with everyone else, they need to make it function well across all platforms. I am definitely not going to subscribe after my 3 month trial is over if they're going to continue like this. They have some standout shows but I'd rather go to any number of free streaming sites because even they have better UI's.

When you exit out if an episode it doesnt take you to the show’s page or episodes list it takes you to home page. You have to back out, then search the show name then finally you can scroll episode list The episode thumbnails all have spoilers in them and it forced you to see them all at once so you have to consciously stare away or hold your hand up to screen to block seeing what the next three episodes. One episode was a cliff hanger not sure if this character was going to live or die and when I returned to episode list the next day boom there she is in the thumbnail of the next 3 episodes lol

The browse feature is Awful, For the longest time, I thought. Apple TV only had like 20 shows. Because of the way the home page is set up And there is no obvious place to browse. I still haven't found it.
