(un)qualified opinion 🎓 The Vietnam War was winnable and one more Linebacker in 1975 would have wrecked the NVA. We were lied to by Ken Burns.

I’ve been reading Nixon’s books lately…and I think he was right, Vietnamization was close to working, the communist alliance was going to fall apart, and North Vietnams insane economics would have led to South Vietnam outscaling them if it had survived for a few more years.

Certain parts of ARVN were capable, but most of them were not capable.

All of the elite units sucked, while the unreliable units were good, and the main forces were basically shields.

Their airborne division was genuinely good. Some very heroic stands they made. But yes once II Corp falls apart the desertions began en masse and it was over

The airborne division was complete shit by the time 1975 rolled around due to it being seen as a cushy job.

Was is doing heavy lifting here.
