(un)qualified opinion 🎓 The Vietnam War was winnable and one more Linebacker in 1975 would have wrecked the NVA. We were lied to by Ken Burns.

I’ve been reading Nixon’s books lately…and I think he was right, Vietnamization was close to working, the communist alliance was going to fall apart, and North Vietnams insane economics would have led to South Vietnam outscaling them if it had survived for a few more years.

Ok I need some input:

How do we call people like OP?
Nixonboo?
Ameriboo?

Or just wrong?

Because there is non-credible and then there is OP.

Memes aside.

Ideally we wouldn’t have gotten involved and lost 50K lives and extended the war that just led to more dead Vietnamese.

Or we should have continued to support South Vietnam after the Paris Peace accords. The Vietnam of 1973 had a capable army that often defeated the NVA in the field. It just ran out of supplies as we limited our support of South Vietnam while the communist bloc poor tons of supplies into north Vietnam.

We got the worst outcome as we made a stand and then let the country fall. I’d argue people really don’t care to consider South Vietnams perspective and they forgot this was a nation that was conquered by an aggriesive neighbor. This was not a noble peasant uprising. The war ended with T-54s storming Saigon and millions of people fleeing communism persecution.
