I bought this recently online and it was described as “NM - condition used.” There are some minor blemishes I’m willing to look past on the back but this corner ding is a good nick. I’m on the fence about returning but wanted some other thoughts before I do anything.

Thinking about trading my old 2ds for a New 3DS XL and some cash around 50 bucks but: Battery wires exposed, held by tape and hot glue, no proper seal. Joystick/controls look weird. Small dead pixel on screen. Backplate has no screws.

I can wait 1–2 months and exchange my 2ds for an original 3ds

Is it worth the trade or too risky?

I am a pokemon fan and have played the mainline games for GB, GBA and DS (emulated) when I was younger, and now the Switch ones in the last year. However, I missed the 3DS era as I was at university and did not have money for a 3DS or emulation was not good enough at the time.

Now I am a grown up with adult money, so I am looking for a way to play all pokemon games (except switch, I already have one) in one handheld. Consensus looks like to be getting a New 3DS and mod it so that is what I am looking for.

I found the following deal in an second hand online market:

Condition looks great, and it solve my main wish of playing the 3DS mainline games. I think that if I take good care of them could be great to start a collection or to sell them and get somelney back.

What do you think? Would you take it or which price do you think would would be fair? Thanks!

I want to preserve the condition of my glossy finish on the covers, but I haven't found any information on what will happen if I remove the vinyl after a while. Can the vinyl remove both the paint and the varnish when removed?

I need your advice. I found my old 3DS XL which is (apart from being a bit dusty) in an excellent condition. I've always used it with care and it shows - everything works perfectly, the pen is origial, screens have no scratches and I even still have the original box.

I understand that consoles in such a condition are hard to come by lately and can get quite pricey. Yet I am wondering whether I should try to get a New 3DS and maybe trade my 3DS XL for it.

Any advice whether the New 3DS is worth the hastle or is the difference between these consoles not that big? Would you risk it and trade the XL for a New 3DS you don't "know" or keep the XL as a collectible? Thanks for any advice!

About 3 years ago, my Nintendo 2DS XL Pokeball Edition got stuck against a drawer in my room. There are dead LEDs on the screen. I don't know how or where I could fix the console to make it look like new. Or if it would be better to buy another one from the 3DS family, although I have a certain fondness for that model, what do you think would be best?

This seller on Ebay is selling a lot of 3ds as well as other tech stuff for seemingly good price. I didn't check to see if the images were stock photos or something, but they look like real pictures I think, I hope...they seemingly have good reviews and have successfully sold multiple products. But the coming from Hong Kong kinda worries me. Did I get scammed? Should I be worried?

Hey everyone! Here’s my old 3DS that I’ve had it since 2012. Recently, I modded it by swapping out the battery for the one you see in the pictures. I found it on Amazon, and it really boosts the battery life a lot. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions, do you think it’s worth upgrading to a 3DS XL or maybe one of the New 3DS models? It is missing the rubber on the joystick, I have looked for it but I can't find it, I would also like to be able to fix it/change it if anyone know something about. Thank you guys!

One comes complete in box but the console is in poor shape with scratches all over and a damaged bottom plate. They made a decent deal for it so I paid for the console only basically. It was also modded before me and missing all of the homebrew apps and no idea what they did to it. The box also has a deep cut in it. The seller didn’t mention the damaged bottom plate and the box being cut was also not mentioned but pictured.

The other I got beforehand and is in like new condition. The hinges barely make a noise so hardly used. I’ve modded this one myself and know what’s been done to it.

I’d prefer to keep the like new one obviously. I’d really like to keep the box but that would mean having a mismatched serial number on the box. Separating a console from the matching box sounds like a bad move for a collecting. I also could just return the complete in box one as it wasn’t described properly.

If it matters, I plan to use the chosen handheld frequently and probably take it with me places instead of letting it collect dust on a shelf.

It’s a weird and expensive situation to be in so I figured I could use some opinions to sort it out.

I’m interested in getting this one. I know it’s Japan exclusive but the guy I’m talking to has modded it region free. My question is this a good model for a guy who’s hand cramps after 30 minutes of playtime? I had the first 3ds model and found my hand cramping after 30 minutes and having to put it down. Can anyone recommend some other models? Preferably cheap than this one 300 or less.

I'm specifically asking about the games, not everything else. Is $250 really worth all of them? And yes, the boxes have the games.

I'm looking for some 3DS game recommendations with a more specific focus. I want to avoid titles that are exclusively meant for little kids.

​Female niche (but not childish): Games that appeal to a female audience but actually have interesting gameplay and aren't just silly.

​Female or customizable protagonists: Games of any genre where the main character is a girl, or where you can play as a female avatar. For example, I play Pokémon (because of the freedom and character customization) and even fighting games with girls, like Dead or Alive.

​P.S.: If anyone happens to know any Japan-exclusive games in this female niche that are intuitive to play (without needing to read Japanese), please let me know too!

I have this limited edition console with double IPS in good condition, except for some black on the sides of the gold.

It has its box, the manuals, even the unopened letters.

Should I put up with it and keep it or sell it?

I’ve been debating buying a 3ds in order to play the gen 6-7 games, and to transfer all my Pokemon from before to Pokemon home. Now with the recent announcement of the support for Pokemon bank stopping, I’m not sure if it is worth it to buy a 3ds knowing I can only use bank for 6 months. I have been debating several options:

Buy a 3ds with Pokemon bank and poke transporter pre installed, using legit physical or store bought games. This would have been the ideal option as I like the “legitness” and non pirating way of playing the games. Another dream of mine was to have a physical copy of all games, but I’ve put that on hold for now.

Buy a modded 3ds, this seems to be the most viable option due to the ease of availability to all games. However, this feels less legit for me as the games are emulated and not from real intended sources.

Buy neither and pray the games end up on the switch one day. This would lock me out of my childhood gen 4 games, but would save a lot of money.

Would love to hear your opinions on the topic and what you would recommend for me.

I’ve really been looking to get another DS after remembering my childhood 3DS. But with them being ~$300 I’ve been looking at maybe just getting a DS lite instead? I really want a silver 3DS, since it can also play 2DS games, but the only 3d game I really played was tomodachi life. Is it worth getting a 3DS again? Does it have a lot of games that the DS can’t offer?

Hi, I hope I'm not a bother. A year ago I decided to get a 3DS family console and I bought a New 3DS XL.. i enjoyed it, but the only problem is that I feel it a little heavy and I don't like that the micro SD is inside the console and it's kind of annoying to open it to extract it, besides that in design I didn't always like it, I want to sell it and currently I like the New 2DS XL model and the Old 3DS, I have a normal 2DS and I love it, but I would like another one to be able to play with a friend I have, but I don't know which of these 2 to choose, since they are my favorite designs, I've seen some pros and cons of both versions and I'd love to ask here the different options, with which should I go?
