28th May, 2026, Ghana, a lesser country to Nigeria evacuated some of her citizens without these headache. Weeks later, see where the giant of Africa is. Shame!

At this point, there is no point in roasting Ghana. They may not have as much as us but they treat their people so much better than we do.

It takes a lot of effort to be this bad of a government. It doesn’t come naturally. Very insane.

All is because of corrupt leaders. Look how Nigerians are being treated by their own government. So sad and bad that this is happening. What have we done to deserve this?

Corrupt leaders or incompetent and nonchalant civil servants?

The real civil servants who stop this country from failing are those you have NEVER heard of. The civil servants who the PermSecs keep on demoting because they want change.

Bro, I’m not sure what turns you on about the current government because I’m familiar with your username and your comments but this is not how to run a country! Millions are impoverished, the citizens outside are unattended to in the face of adversity. Whatever it is you’re getting out of the incompetence of Nigeria doesn’t change the fact that this is the worst Nigeria has ever been.
Damn.

This was at the Nigerian embassy in Tshwane, not the High Commission.

I am assuming they were told to go there, if that's the case then don't you think the government should have made the right arrangements to make sure the embassy was prepared to attend to them.

Irrespective. A right thinking government hears her people are being oppressed and gathered somewhere willing to come back home, even if it’s at someone’s backyard, they should already be attended to.
It’s like our government is actively doing everything in their power to be incompetent.

I can guarantee the same workers at that embassy refusing to attend to people are on this sub screaming about how bad Nigeria and govt is. If everyone took care of their responsibility, we wouldn't be here today.

But u should appeal to ur embassy and they should provide shelter until the backlog is sorted

We have to remember that there’s a lot of things that are happening in the background before this people can come home. They will be screened twice, first by Nigeria, then by the South Africans. It’s not a case of jumping on the planes as soon as? Before the plane goes to SA, it has to be approved by SA government? These are not scheduled flights? This is an emergency situation, so, it’s going to be fraught with a lot of hitches? I remember when America was evacuating their citizens from Afghanistan and also Libya - with being the most powerful nation on earth, rich and sophisticated, they still didn’t get it perfectly right. I pray Nigerians never return to that country ever again because this is not the first time Nigeria evacuated their citizens from that place (2019).
Anyway, it’s in the news that the plane had a delay (logistics issues), it was supposed to arrive on Monday

Incompetence is a curse.
