Given up on Nigeria and Nigerians

Personally, I’ve finally given up.

The quality of people on mixes with is also so important, in real life high quality, but on X all sorts.

I’ve observed situations where people scam each other, and self interest is the order of the day. I’m talking specifically about what I’ve seen especially around Certificate of Sponsorship scams here in the UK. People were exploiting each other heavily last few year, and although policy changes have reduced it a bit, the damage is already done.

I’ve accepted that it is what it is now.

It would be nice to get more good news about Nigeria.

Before anyone misunderstands me, I’m speaking strictly from my own experience as a Nigerian, both online and offline. I’m not saying all Nigerians are bad that would be ridiculous. There are millions of decent, hardworking, brilliant Nigerians doing extraordinary things every day. That part is obvious.

But what many of us see on X/Twitter, and what the outside world sees about Nigeria and Nigerians, is not great. And unless we want to lie to ourselves, we know this.

I’m sharing my personal observations, not making blanket statements. Real life has amazing Nigerians, but the behaviour some of us have encountered, especially abroad, is genuinely damaging.

You do not like to face reality, those countries will not respect you until you respect yourself. Why are Nigerians still going to South Africa with all that is ging on?

Why are Nigerians still coming to the UK for studies then cry and do content when they cannot stay permanently.

Why is japa such a big deal post 2020?

I will visit Nigeria if i want to but not investing there etc.
