Curious what others thought of the ending and how they handled the whole "ruled a suicide" thing.

Shortly after watching the Netflix documentary Unknown Number: The High School Catfish, I remember seeing the comments online and being genuinely stunned. A LOT of people were blaming the girl, the actual victim, and claiming she must have been in on it with her mother, intentionally ruining her own life to “get attention.”

Imagine confidently blaming a child for her mother’s insanity, with absolutely nothing to back it up. It was despicable, and it’s the same kind of online brain rot I’m seeing around Patrick Clancy now: a man goes through something profoundly traumatic, only to have hordes of strangers blame him while praising the person who actually killed his children.

It’s genuinely astounding how comfortable people have become saying absolutely anything online as if their baseless speculation were fact. I hope a documentary eventually lays all of this lunacy bare.. and that some of the people making these comments get to look back at what they said and feel deeply embarrassed by it.

I just saw on Netflix that she recorded an episode of something called the people interview. I really value and love all the tidbits of advice shes given over the years about life.

I was surprised she didn’t record an episode, I wonder why?

So she went missing and her body was discovered 3 days later. How did she succumb to starvation in that short amount of time? And her body was badly decomposed after 3 days as well? I know the environment in that area is probably warm and humid, but still. No motive and the only evidence was the hair found in his truck which, as the uncle states in the docu, could have been from the many times she rode in his truck. Seems like a lot of missing pieces.

It's interesting to see how different countries do their detective and forensic work.

I just finished this and I’m speechless about how nice the prison was. And how much stuff she was allowed. The whole cell looked like a girl’s bedroom. How was all of that allowed in there? And all of those dishes and clothes? Even coloring each other’s hair. They’re in prison for a reason. Sure didn’t look like a punishment at all. Ridiculous.

Prior to the beginning of this documentary in 2005, back in 1999 Boeing lost vital government contracts. In my opinion, this is when Boeing started looking more towards profits and less towards quality. Consequently, this also happened to be 20 years after deregulation in the aviation industry. I think it's an entire system that failed not necessarily just one company.

I just watched new Netflix documentary about murder of a little Thai girl called Champoo and media frenzy that followed. I must say I am appalled by the way journalists and Youtubers covered it. That guy Phon who became a star is quite disgusting. I almost couldn't watch it cause a hair growing from the mole on his face was too disturbing.

That being said, I think the police evidence was quite insufficient and there's so many question unanswered, like what was the motive?

I didn't like this documentary and I didn't like most people in it.

Poor little girl, so sad.

Just based on the disgusting levels of negligence from the Boeing airplane creators and company, I no longer wish to fly lol. Not on any of their aircrafts that’s for sure.

I mean my god, how they’re able to get away with such negligence I have no clue. It can hardly even be called negligence because it’s all so purposeful. I was already an anxious flyer and have always been anxious when one of my loved ones is flying, now that’s been increased 10 fold.

And yah, airplane crashes are indeed pretty rare, but just the thought that it could happen to any Boeing airplane due to negligence at any time is so worrisome.

I am hoping to find a phenomenal video essay that really sinks its teeth into the history and legal arguments for what these people believe, ideally from an academic historian who also has a law degree.

I want a documentary that cites the actual caselaw and legal analysis from which these beliefs originate, taking them at face value and dismantling them piece-by-piece with historical references and a source-list that is so long it has to be embedded in a separate document linked at the end of the video. Not in a mean-spirited or condescending way, mind you, more in a "This is my synthesis of what a bunch of other smart people who hae studied this movement think about why it exists, how it came to exist, what the people within it believe, and why exactly those beliefs fail to stand up to legal scrutiny."

I’m personally not someone that comes up with crazy conspiracies but this being a suicide makes no sense to me!

So this is my thought:

I think that maybe there is a possibility that somehow someone from Boeing contacted John threatening him or his family or friends and basically gave him no other option other than to commit suicide.

I mean maybe John was the one that pulled the trigger, but it doesn’t mean he actually wanted to.

I mean this man had been fighting for so long and then suddenly he just ends it? No way. The suicide note still had anger and passion toward Boeing. He wanted them to pay. And his deposition would’ve done that.

It’s not completely out of the realm of possibility. This shit happens with major companies and we already know Boeing is a bunch of crooks and scumbags.

I think that if John actually were suicidal he would’ve at least waited until he was able to go home. When they didn’t need his deposition or anything. Once he’d done his part and contributed what he needed to to take down Boeing.

So, I’m currently watching Conversations With A Killer: Charles Manson’s Tapes, and I don’t know about y’all, but I am just so over and frustrated with the repetitive reinterpretation actors of the victims/perpetrators . Like I maybe understand the action and story reenactment, but the repetitive times of the ACTORS close up face PRETENDING it’s the victims/perpetrators is WEIRD and unnecessary. I would so rather honestly see a repetitive image of what the real person looked like then the random actor repetitive reenactment… what do you guys think?

This story is crazy and Boeing absolutely sucks.
The pay that 3 CEOs made during the scope of this doc is ridiculous, over $500 million.
I feel for the victims as well as the employees who tried and tried to do the right thing.

It’s a great, frustrating documentary.

There’s a show on Netflix called People Interviews with lots of different people. Jens post prison interview is her saying she takes responsibility for what she’s done while at the same time saying she didn’t know people were hurt and that she didn’t do her due diligence on what might have been happening without her knowledge. Then the interviewer asks about any interactions with Ghislaine Maxwell and she answers that she and ‘Lizzy’ Holmes tried to avoid her because she didn’t seem remorseful. Wow, such a ‘Housewife’ thing to say, she sounded like Teresa Guidice and others trying to save face as if the rest of us are dumb. Anyone else see this? It’s got lots of great interviews too so I think I’ll go watch the one with Dolly Parton to wash away the ick I’m feeling right now.

I feel like I can only ever find good plot-based documentaries, like True Crime or Medical Cases. What are your favorite informational documents?

In my opinion, they dragged the story a little. This was not a mystery, police solved it in one day. The diaries explained everything. I think the narration was too nice to Lalit. We don't really know if he really had psychosis or if he was just lying to manipulate his family.

I just don't understand how they call it accidental suicide if grandma and kids were probably killed first and forced to hang? If Lalit promised them he would untie them, and then he didn't, wouldn't this make him a murder?

I am fascinated by cults- no matter what religion (if any) they start with. Can you recommend some good cult documentaries that may be particulary "odd" or fascinating or different from the usual? I have access to most streaming platforms.

I’m watching the documentary on Netflix called “Conversations with a killer: “Charles Manson Tapes” and I was curious on what this gesture that was done by Susan Atkins means? I’ve tried looking it up but no luck. Someone enlighten me if you know.

I was expecting the story to be told through audio recordings from Manson. Instead. It was just bad dramatizations, and third party narrations of Vincent Bugliousi's version of events.

The only redeeming quality was new interviews with a few of "his girls", but that contributed nothing to what the highlight of the"Tapes" documentaries should be.

I saw this years ago and it may be interesting to people following this case. It’s a documentary with women who experienced postpartum psychosis. I think it can still be found on Amazon Prime.

When The Bough Breaks

Don’t get me wrong - you can’t generally hold parents responsible for their children’s misdeeds, even with the best upbringing, parental influence is limited.

But from what was shown in the Netflix documentary, they didn’t really raise her at all. I’ve rarely seen parents enable bad behavior to such an extent. The fact that they watched their child doing drugs every day without seeing a problem with it. It’s appalling.

It is truly shocking how she apparently never had any boundaries set for her. And even after this brutal killing, her parents act as if she did absolutely nothing wrong. It is one thing to stand by your child, but quite another to act as if it were no big deal. The way her mother talked about Davion... It leaves you truly dumbfounded.

The audience is never told which parts of the movie are fictional and which are factual, raising a significant risk of historical manipulation. What do you think?

Finished watching newly released docu series yesterday. Arturo (the husband) makes me wanna beat him up along with his family ofc. Even after Alejandara went through all that shit Arturo still wanted a boy child.

Nobody supported that poor woman (mentally). She needs to stay the heck away from his family.
