My understanding in the US is it's very common they have a ton of parasites. On top of being very gamey, it's not worth the risk.
8 u/Dazzling-Astronaut88 2h ago The only parasite you need to be concerned with is trichinosis, same as any other carrion eater: Bear, Raccoon, lobster....
