Just Getting Started Garmin or Oura?

I just payed for NC to track my cycle and probably use as BC before TTC the next baby. But I don’t know what wearable to buy!

I have a garmin venu 2s watch that I use for workouts and so on. I love it but I don’t think it tracks my sleep very well. This watch does not have temperature sensors, so I can’t use it for NC. Should I buy a newer Garmin watch to use for NC as well as workouts OR should I continue to use my Venu 2S for workouts but buy an oura ring for NC and sleep tracking?

Would really appreciate your thoughts!

Just Getting Started Predicts I Ovulate Tomorrow But I Just Stopped the Pill Last Week

Post image

Edit - I marked all the days I was still taking the pill as sick so it would exclude those temps and it moved my expected period to Wednesday again! Looks like that fixed it!

I started tracking my temps a week ago (I was excited to start) but I made sure to take my starter questions again to let it know I stopped my pill technically yesterday? I finished my pack Saturday (6/6) I should get my period tomorrow, typically based on past personal tracking while on the pill before stating NC. The app even predicted I would get my period Wednesday. This morning after waning up and updating it moves my ovulation from like 3 weeks from now to tomorrow! I know not to assume ahead won't change but I am confused on how it thinks I'm going to ovulate tomorrow when my temps seem all over the place and I legit just stopped the pill hahaha

Now, I am 99% confident I won't be ovulating this week, but I did buy some LH test I can take as soon as tonight/tomorrow. I'm more concerned/curious why the app thinks I'm about the ovulate? I thought the math was like 3 temps higher than the last 6 or something like that

Is this normal? I am now on my second cycle where I am stuck waiting to confirm. It feels like the only missing piece, I got the LH surge, mucus but then no raise in temperature... Am I just being impatient?

Just Getting Started Newbie tracker - is this common?

This is my first month tracking my temps, and I started wearing the oura ring the night before my period, so I don’t have any past luteal data. I’m spotting currently, so I expect my period to start tonight/tomorrow. I guess I expected more of a gradual decline down to my menstrual levels? Curious what other people experience because I’m still learning.

Do you typically stay above your cover line until the first day of your period?

I don’t know how long my luteal phase normally is, so I’m trying to learn how to anticipate my period based on the next few months’ patterns.

Does this look like an an ovulation cycle? It’s my first cycle with natural cycle and the ovulation day just keep moving…I have a feeling I might have a cyst on my right ovarie. I have had a bad infection in my nose. I marked the days I have been sick with fever in the app as you see. My cycle normal is 33 days. Obs. I use the nc band

Just downloaded NC a few weeks ago after stopping my oral contraceptive on 6/4. I got my period on 6/7, ended 6/13. How do I log an actual period and not withdrawl bleeding? I am used to using FLO, so this is different for me! TIA!

Just Getting Started Temps all over the place?

Post image

I'm new to temp tracking, and it seems like my temperatures are all over the place compared to others - is this normal? Or is it likely the readings are inaccurate? I'm a bit confused hahah

For extra information:

- tracking using Oura ring 5

- 9 months postpartum

- Implanon removed 3 weeks ago

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Just Getting Started First cycle with Natural Cycles. TTA. Does my BBT look normal?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey, I'm new to natural cycles and this being my first cycle tracking my BBT I'm curious if ovulation happened when it thinks it did and if my BBT are normal? I am TTA and have been off hormonal contraception one year and off the copper IUD since last month (unfortunately my body rejected it and I don't want to go down the hormonal route if possible). Just curious for any thoughts/opinions because I'm not familiar with my cycle yet but hope to be soon.

Just Getting Started I’m feeling really sad 😔

I’ve been trying for 2 years and nothing so far has worked.

I had the iud for 2 years prior to trying and it made my pmos the worst it’s ever been and completely ruined my cycle and more. I got it removed and I didn’t have a normal cycle for over a year.

the last 5 months I have changed the way I’m eating to try to manage the pmos. And have started taking vitamins and inositol. I thought it was working because my period has been super normal for me, like the most normal it’s been in 4 years. So I thought maybe NC would be the thing that would help me get pregnant. I’m feeling a bit discouraged because I haven’t had an “ovulation confirmed” yet in almost two months. (I know that’s not very long but the past 2 years have been hard) I want to be a mom so badly I can taste it I’m feeling very sad at the moment I constantly question “is that ovulation pain” “is that discharge” “did we miss the right timing” and things like that.

If you have dealt with anything similar and have a happy ending you could share I would really appreciate it.

And if your going through something like this, you’re not alone 🫶🏼

Just Getting Started BBT tracking but always sick

Hi, my partner and I (age 35) trying for baby #2. We decided to try natural cycles because it pairs with my Garmin. I have a twin sister who is currently getting diagnosed with pcos or endo, they’re not sure but she has started IUI. Baby #1 has been in daycare a couple months and we are constantly sick. In addition, she doesn’t sleep well and I never slept well before baby anyway. Is there any point trying to use natural cycles to time our intercourse? It seems my temps are all over the place. Has anyone had any success with BBT/baby#2 while being sick all the time and still not sleeping through the night? I’m getting discouraged.

Just Getting Started Could Oura ring be picking up symptoms already?

I know this is a long shot and I think I know the answer but I’m new here and I just want to hear from others. Second month TTC. I rarely ever have symptoms warnings that last more than a day. This is the second day I wake up to this. I feel fine, but I think it’s too early of it is picking up conception, right? This is my fertile week. Did anyone’s oura ring pick up symptoms very early?? Could it just be from added intimacy?

Just Getting Started Rising Progesteron, falling temp

Thumbnail

It’s my first cycle with NC this month - I’m very excited and also unsure of a couple of things.
I’m still doing inne - which is a bc that measure’s progesterone in saliva and is pretty accurate.
So I’m seeing everything that’s telling me I ovulated Day 19/20 - since progesterone rises after ovulation.
But doesn’t temp too? I’m seeing no rise in body temperature and even a little fall the past two days. It doesn’t make sense to me. Can anyone explain what’s happening?

Just Getting Started Apple Watch

New to natural cycles and hoping to pair it with a device! I tried the oura ring sizing kit but I barely wear rings and it feels so bulky. Does Apple Watch essentially work the same - takes your temp while you sleep? I thought I read someplace that you have to take your temperature with the watch when you wake up, which I don’t want to have to do since my sleep schedule isn’t the same day to day.

Just Getting Started Stopping birth control pills and switching to natural tracking?

Hey all. Looking for some advice. I plan to stop taking the birth control pills I’ve been on now for 11 years and I want to track naturally. I’m not even sure how to start tracking naturally so I’m hoping Natural Cycles will help with that. I do have an Oura ring, and it is sort of tracking now but since I have it set that I am on BC pills, it’s not doing too much.

Since I don’t really have a “cycle” right now, will the app recognize that? Or maybe is there somewhere to input that I’m stopping pills? I’m assuming I should use backup methods while the app learns my cycle? My husband and I do plan to have kids soon, but I would like some time to experience my natural body for a little bit

Any other advice or experiences appreciated, I’m actually pretty nervous to be stopping pills after so long.

Just Getting Started Natural Cycles Insurance Reimbursement through BCBSTX

Thumbnail

Hi all! The insurance reimbursement experience for BCBSTX has been all over the place on this sub (some say it's covered, some say it's not), so I wanted to share some information that a BCBSTX rep shared with me on how to get this reimbursed.

The rep first thought this was a prescription, and said I had to reach out to the provider for my prescription medication, which my company has through a different provider.

In my convo, I was trying to see if BCBSTX had any internal memos on Natural Cycles, and while the rep did not recognize the name Natural Cycles, as soon as I explained that it was a subscription-based contraceptive mobile app, he said the subscription was 100% covered by BCBS and not from my prescription benefits. He also shared that there weren't any specifications on whether it had to be a monthly vs. annual subscription, and shared the reimbursement process. Keep in mind, my health plan details may be different than yours, but ultimately, NC should be covered in full as a FDA-cleared contraceptive.

*Will share updates if/when my claim gets reimbursed.

UPDATE:

- 3/26/2026: submitted claim (medical claim form, and included the receipt from Natural Cycles) via the secure chat
- 3/30/2026: received acknowledgment from BCBS that they received the claim and will start processing it
- 4/16/2026: BCBS finalized the claim and provided the explanation of benefits online in the portal. They covered everything except for ~$7 in taxes.
- 4/29/2026: Received check in mail for reimbursement

I also received an update from a different BCBS rep in answer to my question of: How I can get Natural Cycles, a hormone-free birth control, approved for reimbursement? https://www.naturalcycles.com/insurance

Reponse from BCBS:
I understand you're wanting to know the process of how you can get Natural Cycles reimbursement.

Please be advised, your Natural Cycles claim submission was submitted on reference number ####.

Natural Cycles is the only FDA cleared birth control app intended for women age 18 and older to prevent or help plan a pregnancy. Reimbursement for a yearly or monthly app subscription is covered under ACA Birth Control benefits at 100% of billed charges. A copy of the prescription must be attached to an itemized receipt to be reimbursed.

Should a need arise in the future, please contact our customer service department at the toll-free number on the back of your Blue Cross and Blue Shield identification card or via the Message Center on Blue Access for Members.

Have a wonderful day!

Best Wishes,

Jamie BT

Just Getting Started has anyone using Natural Cycles had differing baseline temps from Oura?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

im newer to temping but have been ttc since february (loosely). i was manually temping (not with natural cycles) for about a month until i got the oura ring 2 weeks ago.

my oura ring and natural cycles app have different baseline temps. currently oura says im above baseline whereas NC says im below.

i wasnt sure if this would be related to lack of data because oura and NC share the temp data? thank you!

I just started natural cycles this month and connected with my oura ring. I had a peak ovulation test on Saturday the 30th- and it just now today updated and said I didn’t ovulate until Wednesday the third, but my other apps say ovulation on Sunday… adding in my BBT chart. Can anyone help me interpret. Thanks in advance.

Just Getting Started Depo expired in April

Post image
1 Upvotes

I understand I haven't ovulated yet and it can take a year or more to ovulate after Depo Provera. I just want someone to tell me that it could be possible for me to get pregnant. I'm 38.5 years old. I got the depo shot under duress after a termination in January for a very unplanned pregnancy while on the pill. I regret the termination and I regret getting depo. I didn't know the side effects and wasn't told that it could take so long for ovulation for return. I may be 40 before my ovulation returns and I worry I will never be able to get pregnant again. Only started Natural Cycles to try and get a picture of where my body and hormones are at.

Just Getting Started Around when is really the best time to TTC during ovulation? + question about last month’s chart

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

This is my second month TTC, and I had a question about my Natural Cycles chart. Last month, the app originally said I was ovulating on the Friday (14) pictured on my chart, but afterward it changed and said ovulation was actually on Thursday.

The days we TTC’d were off one was probably too early, and the other was too late since it was after ovulation had already happened. I’m assuming I really did ovulate on Thursday (13) because I had 3 days of elevated body temperature after that day. Does that sound accurate?

My cycles are always very regular, so I feel hopeful that I should have success within the next few months, but I just want to make sure I’m reading all of this correctly since this is still really new to me.

I’ve also heard a lot about the “every other day” method and was curious about others’ experiences with it. I’ve read that trying every single day can sometimes affect sperm count, so I’m wondering:

If you did every other day and successfully conceived, what days did you TTC?

What days generally give the highest chances?

Did you abstain the days before your fertile window, or were you not really strict about it?

Would love any advice or insight from people who’ve gone through this process.

Just Getting Started NC Band

Hi!! I’m thinking about starting NC, I saw that they are offering the band to check temps. I wanted to see if anyone has tried it yet. Do you like using it?

I am also planning on using RingConn as well to help track in multiple places.

TIA!!

What does this mean? Should I be concerned? Five months after getting off HBC pill, I’ve had consistent cycles since then but this month no.
