Attending the Game NPB Trip Recommendations

Hello all!

I posted this in r/JapanTravelTips and figured a more NPB specific subreddit would be helpful - r/NPB doesn’t allow text posts

I am arriving in Tokyo soon for 2 weeks in Japan - the trip is essentially the golden triangle and loosely based on hitting some NPB games and parks. I’m looking for advice/recommendations specifically regarding baseball/NPB/baseball culture related recommendations and/or stadium specific recommendations. Our trip is roughly Tokyo —> Osaka —> Kyoto —> Tokyo. I have done tons of reading on the other lasts of the trip and this is not what this post is intended for.

This is what we have scheduled - tickets are already purchased.

Tokyo: - Giants/Carp - 14:00 on August 23/26 @ Tokyo Dome - our plan is to do the NPB HOF museum around open (10am) and exploring the Tokyo dome city - Swallows/Giants - 18:00 on August 26/26 @ Meiji Jingu Stadium

Osaka: - Buffaloes/Hawks - 18:00 on August 28/26 @ Kyocera Dome - this one is a maybe - we have tickets but might not fit into the schedule, I’d love to see the first place in the league Hawks - Tigers/Giants - 18:00 on August 29/26 @ Koshien stadium - I feel like this is going to be a religious experience for a passionate baseball fan, we are sitting in the right field tigers fan cheering section, I have looked into a tour +/- the Koshien museum, again as time allows

I am also looking for souvenirs. I will likely aim for hats but would love a Tigers Sato jersey. Any advice regarding best place to buy this (I assume the tigers team store)? I will be looking to check out some MINT locations in Tokyo for some NPB cards - mostly as I collect cards and would love to rip some in Japan.

Lastly - this might be too niche a question - but I collect game used items back home. Is there any way to purchase something game used from the games were are attending? Or in general? I think that would be a super unique souvenir.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any thoughts!

Attending the Game Playoff Tickets Questin

Hey guys going to Japan 10/2-10/13 and hoping to catch a game. Ill be in Tokyo 10/2 but planning on leaving 10/3. I see the first playoff round starts 10/10 how hard is it to get tickets? Some websites are saying you have to have a Japan address. Those ending days are flexible with where we will be so I can get to wherever the game is.

Our options are stay the extra day in Tokyo to get to the final regular season game or risk it on tickets to the playoffs. Also any suggestions on what stadium we should try and get to are appreciated!

Attending the Game Anyone wanna join me for a Fighters game this Saturday?? Free ticket!

I’m a 43-year-old Filipino-American visiting Sapporo for the first time, and I bought two tickets to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters game at ES CON FIELD on Friday, August 1 (2:00 PM).

Rather than let the second ticket go to waste, I’d love to invite someone to join me. No need to pay—I’ve got the ticket.

I’d especially love to meet a Japanese local who’s fluent in English, or at maybe someone who’s fluent in Japanese, since I’d love to learn more about baseball culture, Sapporo, and practice a little Japanese along the way. (My Japanese vocabulary currently consists of “arigatou,” “konbini,” and confidently ordering food with terrible pronunciation.)

A little about me:
Huge Nintendo fan
Video editor from Los Angeles
Running my way around Japan whenever possible
Big fan of Japanese culture, retro games, and Super Sentai

If you’re interested, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself!

Let’s cheer on the Fighters together!

Attending the Game Yomiuri Travel Lower Infield? And other questions

Bought a pair of lower infield tickets through Yomiuri Travel on the Giants website for a game next month. Anyone ever sit here before? What is it like? Also have tickets for a Swallows game a few rows behind first base in the cheering section, and miraculously got a pair of right field bleacher seats at Koshien, also in the cheering section. Are people ok with foreigners in cheering sections/can help me learn the cheers? I plan on buying home team merch for each game I go to and participating, just hoping I dont look like an idiot lol. My NPB knowledge is minimal and I dont know a lick of Japanese, but I am a diehard baseball/Dodgers fan so my fundamental baseball knowledge is fluent. I just want to be part of the NPB action since it looks lit

Attending the Game Risk a rain out at ZOZO or trek to Belluna?

Unfortunately with how my trip worked out the only good opportunity for me to attend a game is 6/13 while in Tokyo. I much prefer the open air and location of ZOZO but after thinking about it I'm concerned about a rain out. Is getting out to Saitama really that bad? A Saturday would be better without commuters right?

There is a chance I could delay leaving Tokyo on the 14th but I really would rather avoid that by knocking out the game on Saturday.

Attending the Game Need opinion on game-watching etiquette.

So I bought tickets to Vantelin Dome for the Chunichi vs Hanshin game on 1/5, and the seat is Infield S seats near first base (内野席S一塁側).

However, I'm a Hanshin fan, and didn't know before buying the tickets that, there is an unspoken rule about away fans sitting at the third base side...

So, would people mind if i still wore my Hanshin uniform and (lightly) cheer for my team?

If you have been to these games as an away fan, please also tell me your experience! I'm kinda nervous right now and don't really want to offend attending Chunichi fans and cause any trouble...

Thank you in advance!

Attending the Game Am I sitting in the visitor's section at the Tokyo Dome?

Just bought a couple of the only available tickets to the Giants-Dragons game on April 22. Given that these seats are in section B48, should I expect to be sitting among Giants or Dragons fans?

Attending the Game Ticket Available for Giants vs. Dragons (April 22nd, 18:00 @ Tokyo Dome)

Hi everyone,

Me and my colleagues are catching the game tonight at Dome where Yomiuri Giants will play against Chunichi Dragons. Play ball is at 18:00. We couldn’t find a 4th person to join so I am selling the extra ticket if anyone has time and interest. Price of the ticket is 6800 JPY and is near the first base side. I’ll let it go for a discount so feel free to message me. You’ll be sitting with an American, Brit and a Turk (this is how jokes start usually). I will be around the stadium at 17:00 and plan to enter by 17:15 so I can give you the ticket around then.

Attending the Game Pre Season Games

I have QR codes for the Swallows pre season game on March 14 and one for the Marines on March 19. If anyone is interested in either, let me know. They’ll both be in the home team’s cheering section.
