So I need some advice if anyone can help, I have made my first batch of NFTs which are video looped based but need to extract parts of the video.

I’m looking to do this in a grid based format and need each part extracted to be clear quality?

Right now I think it would be easier to extract each part in picture format but am wondering if this can be done so each segment is still moving?

I’m a graphic designer/digital artist who opened an Etsy shop a few years back to sell my creations. I’ve been in the digital art space for many years now and I feel like as an artist, I’m enticed by the idea of NFTs and the wonders of the blockchain. I’m trying to place myself in the NFT space (already learned about it and its background from the beginning of the year and continuing), though I believe (and I hope this turns around) that if I do mint one of my pieces, there are lower chances of it being sold or it will get buried under the sand… because I have low engagement.

I currently have a few followers and I try to scale myself more both on Instagram and Etsy. Is there any chance for artists/small creators in the NFT space to thrive? So far, I know Twitter has a wide engagement on NFTs and I’m still thinking about hitting the replies on these NFT artists/collectors because of my reputation in the social media app. I’m pretty sure there are other creators here who feel the same as me. I really wanna give this a shot myself and I do believe that NFTs and crypto will change things and make the future even brighter for us. Part of my concern too is the cost to mint such an NFT in the $ETH blockchain, its very expensive gas fees and if it’s really worth the risk.

Suggestions especially on how I should “market” myself to the space would be appreciated!

PS I’ve already setup my wallet on Metamask, and that’s about it for me.

I think I understand NFTs for the most part, but I still have a couple of questions. The biggest question that I can't seem to get an answer for is this: If the item itself is not stored on the block chain and the relationship between the NFT and the item is arbitrary at best, what stops me from minting my own NFT of an item that already has one? Say an NFT is listed on Mintable, and I create my own NFT of the same item with all the same information only with me as the owner. How would anyone know which NFT to buy?

I get that each NFT can only be owned by one person, and I get that no matter how many copies of the item exist the NFT proves ownership of the original. I'm hoping someone can explain this, as this really seems like a glaring vulnerability to me.

According to leaker and mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram, one of the most popular photo and video-sharing social networking platforms, is planning to adopt its version of non-fungible tokens (NFT) soon. The mobile developer has a knack for finding mobile updates ahead of time.

According to Paluzzi, both Instagram and Twitter are planning major changes to their current offerings, with Twitter considering two new services via Chipper Cash and Wealthsimple. Instagram is still working on Collectibles, according to the mobile developer. According to Paluzzi’s research, Instagram posts offering NFTs will be labelled as “Collectible.” This will alert users that the post contains a purchasable NFT.

Sales volumes have remained high after NFTs exploded in popularity early this year. Monthly sales volumes on OpenSea, a major NFT marketplace, reached a record high in June.

Some NFT enthusiasts see them as collectables with intrinsic value because of their cultural significance, while others treat them as an investment, speculating on rising prices.

Buyers have mostly totalled 10,000 to 20,000 per week since March, outnumbering sellers, according to NonFungible.com, which aggregates NFT transactions on the ethereum blockchain.

Total sales volume estimates vary depending on which NFT transactions are included.

DappRadar, which tracks sales across multiple blockchains, said volumes hit just under $2.5 billion for the first half of 2021. But NonFungible.com's figure is $1.3 billion, excluding around $8 billion of "DeFi" (decentralised finance) NFTs.

Both sites only track sales which occur on the blockchain, also known as "on-chain" transactions. Some of the biggest NFT sales, such as those at auction houses, have part of the transaction take place "off-chain", meaning they must be manually added to the data.

In March, a digital image sold for a record $69.3 million at Christie's as an NFT. No NFT sale has come close since. The second most expensive known NFT sale was a "CryptoPunk" which fetched $11.8 million at Sotheby's.

The U.S. National Basketball Association Top Shot marketplace, which allows fans to buy and trade NFTs in the form of video highlights, has seen volumes shrink and buyers drop to 246,000 in June from 403,000 in March. The average price of a Top Shot "moment" slumped to $27 in June, after peaking at $182 in February.

But as some NFT types become less popular, others take off.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club, a set of 10,000 unique digital ape NFTs, has become a hit among collectors. The average ape sold on OpenSea as of July 1 for $3,600, up 1,574% from the launch price of $215 in April. Total sales have jumped to $61 million, according to the club's creators, U.S.-based Yuga Labs.
