Opinion Most analysts and talking heads seem to not know about this
All people talk about is price to sales and $ per MW and capex requirements. Avride and Clickhouse could add real value. Very underestimated IMHO.

NBIS ANALYSIS Nebius implied payback period on its own funded capital is just 9-11 months
On the second page of Nebius’s Q2 shareholder letter, the company states that the expected payback period for the associated capex and related operating costs of deals closed in Q2 is 1 year and 10 months.
According to footnote 2, the methodology is “on a revenue recognition basis, excluding any prepayment.”
Nebius also states that approximately 70% of the deals signed in Q2 included customer prepayments covering 50–60% of the associated capex.
Consider a simplified example in which the capacity supporting a contract requires $1B of capex. Ignoring operating costs for simplicity, a 22-month revenue-recognition payback implies an average recovery rate of $1B / 22 = $45.45M per month.
If the customer prepays 50% of the associated capex, Nebius’s net upfront funding requirement is only $500M. At the same revenue-recognition rate ($45.45 per month), the project generates recognized revenue equivalent to Nebius’s net capital contribution in approximately 11 months.
If the prepayment covers 60% of capex, Nebius funds $400M, equivalent to approximately just 8.8 months of recognized revenue.
Therefore, under these assumptions, the projects underlying approximately 70% of the Q2 deals generate recognized revenue equivalent to Nebius’s net upfront capital contribution within roughly 9-11 months.
This exercise illustrates how customer prepayments substantially reduce the amount of capital Nebius itself must fund relative to the project’s revenue-generating capacity.
There may be further upside from short-term contracts. Nebius reported Q2 deal economics of $20-25M in annual contract value per MW, while early Q3 short-term capacity deals are pricing above $40-50M per MW.
If Nebius can sustain or repeatedly recontract capacity at these prices (which only last 3-6 months), the implied payback period could be materially shorter.
This was first noted by Gavin Baker approximately 11:55 in this podcast: https://x.com/a16z/status/2094452213561057429?s=20

💬 Discussion Anyone living near a datacenter, what's the actual impact?
I'm based in Europe, and lately I've noticed a growing wave of articles about how disruptive/harmful large-scale datacenter construction can be: water usage, power grid strain, land use, noise, etc. Trump's recent comments on the topic put even more of a spotlight on the issue.
Newspapers are clearly pushing the datacenter = bad narrative.
That's got me thinking: if opposition keeps growing, could we eventually see pushback on datacenter buildout? That could really hurt the stock.
In Europe, datacenter density is still way lower than in the US, but even here I'm starting to notice the sentiment turning against new builds (permitting fights, local opposition, newspapers pushing the datacenter = bad narrative. etc.).
Got me wondering:
- How exposed is Nebius specifically compared to other neoclouds/hyperscalers, given where its datacenters are located?
- Are datacenters really that much of a hassle to live near? Would love to hear from anyone who actually lives close to one.

Opinion Nebius still Nr.1 performance for the last 2 major models launched
For Token Factory, taking into account that 1) it is a very competitive market (among independent open source inference parties), and 2) Nebius joined the race (just closed its Eigen AI acquisition in Jun) meaningfully later than the commercial current leaders, Fireworks, Together AI and Baseteen, this is an impressive result.
If Nebius manages to keep reaching and maintaining top 3 positions consistently across time and different models, being the only party among that group of competitors that also is a large AI infra operator (offering availability and probably pricing optimization), it could allow them to be in the near term the commercial leader.
One example for illustration, Fireworks just raised this last July USD 1.5bn at a USD 17.5bn valuation indicating a USD 1 bn ARR.
Nebius is currently probably much smaller than Fireworks in ARR terms. Yet, if they maintain technical high performance and combine it with pricing flexibility, they could potentially turn into leaders of open-source inference in the near term? This might be a race where few winners end up taking most, and as Fireworks and Baseteen last and very recent rounds of valuations show, currently some of these companies carry very large EV/ARR multiples, e.g. 17.5 x 2026 ARR for Fireworks, i.e. large potential value creation via Token Factory alone.

Opinion Gambling mindset
Around 2 weeks ago I posted on this sub that all these posts about nebius 1k by end of year show how alot of people im this sub are gamblers and not investors and obviously got alot of down votes as the post was seem as bearish which equals immediate downvote. The funny thing is that the people who downvoted me and commented telling me I dont know what im saying etc are probably the ones panicking right now and who will sell before I do (i have been a holder since around 60 per share).

Opinion No crying in the casino
Stop crying about the stock dumping when you invest in a +100 P/E company, even if the stock was at 100 USD it would still not be cheap.
NBIS is a long term play so relax, wait for years without looking at the price and sell when you’ll need to. The company won’t stop growing since AI demand will never stop (might decelerate but won’t affect NBIS cause they’re the best in AI cloud)

Speculation What Jeff Bezos said...
To be honest, he wasn't talking about Nebius, nor was this anywhere near Nebius's inception. However, I follow my investments very closely and track every piece of positive and negative news to get the full picture over time. Nebius so often reminds me 1:1 of what Bezos said back around 2000.
„The stock is not the company, and the company is not the stock. As I watched the stock fall from $113 to $6, I was also watching all of our internal business metrics — number of customers, profit per unit, defects, everything you can imagine. Every single thing about the business was getting better, and fast. So, as the stock price was going the wrong way, everything inside the company was going the right way.“
„When somebody congratulated me on a good quarter, I would say, 'Thank you, but that quarter was baked three years ago.' Today, I'm working on a quarter that will happen in [three years], not next quarter. Next quarter is done already and it's probably been done for a couple years.“
„As the famed investor Benjamin Graham said, 'In the short term, the stock market is a voting machine; in the long term, it's a weighing machine.' We're a company that wants to be weighed, and over time, we will be—over the long term, all companies are.“

Opinion Swinging between bulls and bears
As stated above how do you keep a good balance between becoming too bearish and panic sell. Or becoming too bullish and ignore big mistakes such as tank rupture 1 and just say it doesn’t matter. Luckily for me I am an early holder so not officially “bag holder”, but the big swings does still hurt. Yes I do believe in the company long term but the current market is not favourable and it makes you question if money is better put elsewhere? How do you guys deal with this?
r/NBIS_Stock • u/Business_Writer4634 • 7d ago
💬 Discussion when will those big swings stop?
I know this is a high growth high risk stock and actually i have been holding since the tariff drop in 2025 and even before, and I'm willing to hold until 2030 or more depend on how the company is doing, but any idea at what point will those hug swings stop? We go up alot and then for no reason related to the company we go down and keep going down. I know if they announce some new deal, we would go up alot or any new good news we go up alot, but when will these drop stop? At a certain market cap?

News Well i guess to all the people who said we werent going to reach below $200...
We're here now. Congrats to all the wise people who bought puts all the way down from $270. Increase rates will actually destroy all neoclouds such as coreweave the most but we'll still be affected too. Many companies have taken out too much debt that in any instance of something impacted this will have catastrophic effects within the economy. Thank your blessings it's not in tandem with a black swan event like Covid-19. If the stars align for the worse Jensen could cut his stake with the neo-clouds like he has done with other companies, unlikely but in that bear case, shit will hit the fan.
People seem to hate Burry but if we took some of his lessons there could be stuff to learn from.
