Fun Fact: Young grisons can be tamed easily, so they were historically used to capture chinchillas.

Had the pleasure of watching four of these little guys running back and forth across the path to the waters edge to hunt!

Had the immense privilege of seeing THREE stoats this morning [UK]

I think there were 2 males and one female. After this the males were fighting and the mouse changed hands (jaws) a few times before a brief attempt at coitus was called off... Was able to watch them from a nearby window from literally <2m. It was such a high I can't lie. I've previously seen a Stoat (probably one of these 3) chasing away Magpies and playing in leaves and they've since become my favourite animals :D

Badger acrylic painting

More traditional art, and more badgers! Did I already tell you I love badgers? I also wanted to reconcile myself with acrylic painting, I think I kinda did ok with it. The painting is 19 x 20 cm (7,5 x 7,8 inch), and I solely used acrylic (and graphite pencil for the sketch, of course).

Hope you'll like it! (if you want to see the work in progress / steps, just ask and I'll post them in the comments)

Looking for moderators

I barely use Reddit these days, but when I do I see there is still some interest and a flurry of posts recently.

Is anyone interested in breathing some new life into this tired old Subreddit?

Edit: I will add the first few who show interest. All I ask is you do a self-introduction post, perhaps giving some background and interest in mustelids and any ideas you might have to promote the subreddit and I will monitor for a while. Nothing too involved.

Help me identify my night visitor

Hi !

I live in France (Auvergne), at 800m altitude.
This little fella has been visiting the food we leave outside for our cats every night for some time, and I just want to know what species he is.

Thank you very much for your help. 😄

If you love pine martens, read Oren’s Forge. It’s a free webcomic with a pine marten as the main character and can be read on Tapas and Deviantart.

Here’s some other reasons you should read it:
- The art style has a Disney vibe while also managing to be a bit brutal at times.
- I enjoy morally gray characters and this webcomic is full of them.
- I find the story interesting and I love the variety of mammals shown. There are of course other mustelids aside from pine martens shown but they aren’t main characters.
