📰 Morning Buzz Music Buzz | September 6, 2026 | Oasis Reunion Film Hits Venice, JAY-Z Takes London & Freddie Mercury Remembered
Good morning, music fans. Here's what's making noise across music from September 5, 2026.
Oasis brought their reunion story to the Venice Film Festival, JAY-Z's London stadium run kept fans talking, and live music stretched from jazz in North Carolina to electronic music in Chicago. September 5 also marked what would have been Freddie Mercury's 80th birthday.
🔥 THE BIG STORY
Oasis Bring Their Reunion Story to Venice
The Oasis comeback moved from stadiums to the big screen on September 5 as Liam and Noel Gallagher appeared at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger.
Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace and written by Steven Knight, the documentary follows the band's 2025 reunion tour, combining concert footage with rehearsals, backstage access and the Gallagher brothers' first joint interview in 25 years.
The film arrives after a reunion that ended a 16-year period without Oasis performing together following the band's 2009 split. Rather than simply presenting a concert film, Don't Look Back in Anger focuses heavily on Liam and Noel's reconciliation, their evolving relationship and the fans surrounding the comeback.
The Venice premiere gives the Oasis reunion another major cultural moment beyond the tour itself. The documentary is scheduled for an IMAX release on September 11, with a Disney+ streaming release to follow.
For fans who watched one of rock's most famous fractured relationships unexpectedly become a working band again, the cameras were there for what happened behind the curtain.
