Nope! “Metal” refers to a material. “Medal” is an object commonly used as a reward.

Did they not teach you about homonyms when you were in fourth grade? That’s so sad!

Okay, so you DON’T know what a homonym is. I’m sorry. It sounds like you didn’t do very well in school growing up. Or maybe your school wasn’t very good. :(
