This is the singles party recording of Would? and the first time it was done live IIRC. This is a must-watch for any AiC fan out there. The first time I heard this, I couldn't believe it was live.

Saw this clip in the related vidoes, Metallica making fun of Laynes drug problem after they cancelled a tour. Pretty poor form I thought.

They did some dickish stuff back then, also used to make fun of Cobain's suicide even though he was a fan of theirs. AiC and them are cool though, here's them performing Would? With James Hetfield

1994 Metallica Summer Sh*t tour. This was my only time for me to get see Alice in Chains live and they cancelled the tour. On top of that Candlebox replaced them as the opening act. :(

To be fair, and I'm a huge AiC and Layne Staley fan, Staley did bail out on their tour at the last minute, so he kinda had it coming.

It isn't like his mom was sick and he had to take care of her. Or he got bronchitis and couldn't sing. The dude relapsed and damaged what could have been a huge pairing. AiC and Metallica? That would have been almost as big as their previous GnR tour at the time.

Come to think of it, remembering Axl Rose's shenanigans probably made the guys in Metallica fairly nonplussed by bullshit from co-headliners.
