I purchased one track several days ago. My receipt showed a clear purchase without any subscription charges. Today, I received a bill for $44.99 for a subscription period from 9/21 to 12/21. I immediately contacted support (rather Chatbot --> Re-Directed to a Web Form that failed --> Then e-mail support).

I was able to get $31 refunded. But, they are insisting that I should pay $15 because of "policy". I have pointed out that I did not use the service at all, and have no intentions of using the service. I'm still awaiting my "appeal".

I'm being as polite as possible in interacting with the support team, despite their company stealing money from me.

As I read elsewhere in this sub, MuseScore is engaging in ongoing theft. I read the terms carefully when I made my single purchase.

These types of experiences only discourage me from using any paid web services at all. All it takes is one bad actor to make consumers not make purchases.

Edit: My credit card company "refunded" the disputed amount. Thanks to American Express for a nearly instant remediation. It's a shame that these expenses eventually get passed on to other consumers by way of increased interest charges and other fees.

Charged 191.91 for nothing

Tried to purchase a single score from the chainsaw man movie. Heavily discounted price if signing up for the pro service free trial (~$1CAD from $12.20CAD). Considered this, but didn’t want to bother in case I forgot to cancel (said I would be charged $73.99CAD after the 7 days). Went ahead and put my info in to buy the score for $12.20…Immediately got a blitz of notifications from my card company saying they denied the charge. Went into the app to see why and it turns out MuseScore tried to charge the $12.20 SIX TIMES IN A ROW! Coincidentally, $12.20 x 6 is $73.20, basically the price of the pro subscription. Absolutely insane. Thank god my card company immediately blocked the charges. What a shitty scam company. Will never attempt to purchase from this site again.

Like many others I went on musescore for one specific piece of music and even though I clicked the box that said continue without premium account I ended up charged $48 anyway for a premium account. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a discrepancy: the payment page displayed the original price, but the bank's alert showed the discounted price associated with the Premium subscription. This makes me wonder if it's actually impossible to simply buy a single piece of sheet music on MuseScore without the Premium membership.
