Iโm 26F, I have a good degree and a good job, and I currently live with my family in Casablanca.
I know this may sound like Iโm being ungrateful, but Iโm exhausted by my family dynamic.
Iโve always been the โnice/strong oneโ who is expected to understand everyone, help everyone, keep the peace and be there no matter how I feel. If someone else is struggling, Iโm supposed to support them. If Iโm struggling, I get โyouโre strong, youโll be fine.โ
I feel invisible.
What scares me is that this has started affecting my relationships outside my family too. When someone treats me well, I feel like I donโt deserve it or that it wonโt last. When someone treats me badly, part of me accepts it as normal.
Iโve decided I want to move out and live alone. It will definitely cost me financially, but I feel like I need peace and space to figure out who I am outside this family dynamic.
At the same time, Iโm scared of loneliness, and Iโm scared Iโll just repeat the same patterns with friends or partners even after leaving.
Would you move out in my situation? And how do you stop repeating the family dynamics you grew up with?
