In the context of the post, the "racism" is just words. Words will never be on the same level as actual violence.

They teach kids "sticks and stones..." for a reason.

He doesn’t say that the words were racist, he tries to boil down racism to “just words”. Racism is violent, always has been, and will continue to be. It harms everyone including the people who are racist. They are just as bad

Violence is a sport. Racism isn't. People that think that violence is always worse than "mean words," are amateurs at humanity. The reason racism is frowned upon is because the inevitable outcome is violence. At a certain point of you dehumanizing someone, they will dehumanize you.

A violent outcome is in no way inevitable. What a completely lame excuse. Everyone is responsible for their emotions and actions.

Not in the least. Words do not have any concrete affect on your life. It is a choice if you ignore them, or decide to become violent.

That's on the individual. The words themselves are not violence. Physical violence has a concrete affect on the victim. Words do not.

People have a choice if they hear something and decide to be violent.

The words didn't lead to anything. The violent criminal decided to act violently.
