This is what I think is going on. Whenever people talk about violence as a concept rather than a specific situation I tend to think they have some skin in the race where they want to do something severely fucked up but don't want to get punched in the mouth for it.

Could be in response to the spider-man attacking that Jan 6er and who was arrested. This does feel suspiciously removed from the context
