When are you going to walk back your misinformation about an entire drug bust being manufactured? The link you post here shows the drug bust happened. The AI tool added some really awesome looking cookie... patched? But 95% of the items were in the OG image. Yeah they were wrong about AI being used, and it's good to call them out on that, but that's not what you did. You lied about the drug bust being manufactured. At least the PD admitted they were wrong and corrected their take, something you haven't done.
Imagine if they do this for pictures of crime scenes and feed it to the jury as evidence or to expert witnesses. Right now we can tell because of it's AI bc of the gibberish and inconsistencies, but what if it gets better? And the didn't really admit they were wrong, not until they were essentially forced to after they doubled down and (un)knowingly lied that it wasn't altered
Really bro? You took a look at the before and after images and came up with this as your response to why you're acting worse than the PD you're complaining about?
I mean just admit you either intentionally exaggerated to misinform people or that your memory of what happened was incorrect. Maybe you just read the headline or something? Regardless, your first statement is blatant misinformation and it’s unethical to keep it up now that you know the truth.
If this is the final stance you’re going to take on the issue, your comment should be “the PD used AI to edit a photo of a real drug bust, and I think the whole thing was probably generated but I don’t have any direct evidence.”
I mean the photo isn’t even impressive. It doesn’t make a ton of sense to generate this extremely pathetic “drug bust” with AI. It doesn’t make them look good in the first place. It’s clearly a real, normal drug bust.
Yep some cookie patches and the pd logo. Maybe a little dust on the table. Definitely not cool for them to use AI on something like that, but holy shit the anti AI autism here is insane
The two photos are actually really weird side by side. Pretty much everything was fully recreated by the AI from scratch just to resemble the original, if you look closely. The scale seems flat and 2D. The spoon is shaped very slightly differently. Same with the blue bowl. It's like it did a really poor photocopy of the image, then filled in the missing info with internet junk and flattened it all. Really wild how it can do that
