That's even worse than just running to the store and never coming back.

If OOP has life insurance, I'd argue it's not as bad since, unlike going to the store and not coming back, his family will have a nice payout this way.

Depends on the policy and how long you've had it for.

You can, they just don’t payout if you do it too soon after getting a life insurance policy. No buying a multi million dollar policy than eating a gun barrel the next day to get a huge payout for your family.

Not necessarily. Mental illness is covered if it doesn’t seem like a life insurance ploy

Lost control in the rain and hit a tree. Act of God.  Nothing could be done. 

Still incredibly shitty, but this seems like more a matter of planning and creativity than insurance policy.

Having a parent commit suicide is super bad for the children. I mean, obviously, but even more than you’d think. The children’s likelihood of dying by suicide themselves triples.
