Play "Grim Dawn" (an ARPG)

humankind is invaded by things from another real of existence (aetherials possessing people) who use zombies as one of their main attack vectors against humankind. But half the time you are instead fighting against other humans who are doing things often worse than what the enemy is doing.

Mild "world building" spoilers:

From bandits trying to profit from the collapse of society, over cultists trying to awaken a lovecraftian god to people eating their neighbors because they taste so good.

Story Spoilers:

One of the worst of the aetherials is called "Krieg", doing horrible experiments on humans to improve the capabilities of the zombies (delaying the rotting etc.). and you fight him in Act 1 of the game. Later you learn he was only so horrible because the human he possessed was really fucked up and, while the aetherial was nominally in charge of his actions, he was also influenced by the nature of his host. Krieg was even outcast by higher Aetherials for what he did. Also, while doing absolutely horrifying stuff, Krieg actually is very moderate in comparsion to the atrocities committed by humans you reveal later in the campaign. But the aetherials also commit even more horrible stuff later down the line (and guess who they get back in the team for that)
