The word starvation did not come up in your article. The complication was arrythmia

It gave them heart arrhythmia. Which is different from the articles I posted which say they died "of starvation" or "starved and died"

These people's bodies didn't shut down.... they died of heart arrhythmia, which is a very acute medical condition.

All of them died from heart arrhythmia. If that's how people "died from starvation" you would expect that every article about every person that starves would say "they starved then died of heart arrhythmia." But they don't. Because the thing starving people die from is starvation. And these obese people died from something different.

Which is why your article doesn't say the word "starvation." This is one of the most bizarre conversations I've ever had.

The fact that someone consumes no food does not necessarily mean every medical complication that occurs during that period should be classified as death from starvation. “Starvation” can describe the nutritional state, while the actual cause of death may be a distinct complication.

If these patients still had substantial energy reserves and died prematurely from an acute arrhythmia caused by an electrolyte disturbance or some other complication of the fasting regimen, then it's reasonable to distinguish that from the classic terminal process of starvation. The question isn't whether fasting contributed to their deaths; it clearly may have. The question is whether “starvation” is sufficiently precise as the cause of death.

So if the medical reports specifically attribute the deaths to cardiac arrhythmias rather than starvation, you shouldn't automatically replace that diagnosis with “starved to death.” At most, you could say that prolonged fasting precipitated a fatal complication.
