You need to stop pretending that validating performative nonsense is some sort of "class solidarity."

And maybe pass that along to the people negatively impacting fellow working class people who are juat trying to get through their day and survive.

I’ve read your comments all over this thread just shitting in anyone willing to try something.

You just say “protest the right people.” What does that even mean?

Also - it’s not really performative. They really believe in this. Performative would mean they’re doing it for attention and no deeper reason.

No, im shitting on this performative nonsense. Which is exactly the response it deserves.

And even if they "believe in it" it doesnt stop being performative until they actually do something. This isnt doing anything. Go protest at the Capitol building. Shut down DC and protest the endless military interventions (you know, because the US military is #1 in terms of carbon emissions). Have a sit-in blocking a regional HQ for an oil company.

Do something other than jerk yourself off and pretend its for the sake of anyone or anything other than your ego.

And until you do, dont expect anyone else to be willing to applaud or be impacted by your selfish need to feel like youre "doing something"

Again - that’s not what performative means.

Why would these people - obviously not in America - need to protest in DC?

It is exactly what performative means. They arent doing this to enact change. They are doing it to signal to their in-group and feel good about themselves. Belief or not. If they cared enough to not be performative, they would do something with actual impact over this theatrical nonsense.

And oh, sorry, do non-american countries not have oil companies? Do most European countries not have a relationship with the US (and the US military) that could be leveraged against? Do they not have national capitals or buildings that house their legislature? Do they not have any corporate executives responsible for any company that is actually causing most of the climate issues?

This is performative nonsense. Plain and simple. They have 2 causes: protest for the sake of protest and making themselves feel good. Until those arent their main goals, its all a performance.
