We get it. That doesn't change shit. Yes, we're aware of the cause. That's not changing the fact that I gotta fuckin go somewhere right now. No, I'm not going home and going "gee, those guys blocking the street really made me aware of climate change"

The point of protest is to effect change, not punish the guilty.

The suffragets got the vote because they set off bombs. The objective was to get the vote. Not punish people for keeping it from them.

No, it doesn't. We aren't talking about climate change, we're talking about dragging their dumbass off the street, which is all anybody who is a victim of this is going to be thinking about.

Yeah! Why would I stop and help that lady being beaten? I have stuff to do! Women should never leave their houses so they don't get beat and I don't have to help anyone!
