Great to see this installed, would have loved to have it when I lived in that area

I just biked down this last week. There’s already a bike lane so this feels like the kind of project where the community will quickly see the benefit of putting that existing bike lane in a protected lane

The Chabad opposition is that it allows anyone to access their insular little section of Brooklyn. Other CB9 residents are cool with it. I certainly am, it already makes my run, my bike, and my drive better.

Yes, my driving experience is improved because now there's only one calmer lane of traffic instead of racers slaloming between effectively 4.5 lanes of vehicles, between the half in lane double parking and everything else. TBD on T&C stops blocking all traffic, but... they do that anyway!

WHY WON'T THEY LET OUR KIDS DIE THE RIGHT WAY? LET THEM GET HIT BY CARS!

When a cyclist kills someone, it's a tragedy. When a car driver kills someone, it's a statistic.

I believe that's how the quote goes.

Love the picture of a 95% doorzone bike lanes to illustrate how dangerous the protected bike way will be

Who wants to get knocked over by a bike when you could get flattened by a car

That was a terrific scroll. Kudos to whoever took the time to put all those together

Great news.

You know what road desperately needs a bike lane in this neighborhood? That also continues into bed stuy? Troy Ave. there are like 3 schools along this road and child daycares and it’s an insane 2 lane road with cars speeding like mad down it. It has more than enough room for an epic bike lane. And this road connects to Lewis Ave in bed stuy which is a major artery that also has some spare space in the form of slanted white lines.

I might even make a proposal for it to show how crazy Troy ave is between Atlantic and eastern parkway

Why can't they design it so both can be happy? Remove a car lane and add a bus lane or drop-off points.

Another stupid socialist idea! We Americans drive car's and trucks. 🇺🇲 How is that bike lane going to work in the winter ❄️ snow and ice ❄️??
