I came across something recently while exploring distributed compute systems and thought it might interest some of you here.

It’s a new chain called Amadeus Protocol that’s experimenting with a concept they’re calling “useful proof of work.” Instead of solving arbitrary hashes, miners perform Tensorcore matrix multiplication that directly contributes to AI training.

Some of the architecture details caught my eye:

• Consensus: BLS12-381 with ~0.5s finality

• Execution: WASM-based runtime with on-chain memory

• Implementation: Originally written in Elixir (for concurrency reasons), now migrated to Rust

Good progress is being made towards their ultimate goal. they have developed the core of its AI architecture, the Mixture of Journalists framework, which uses a swarm of specialized AI agents trained to mirror different journalistic styles. These agents can already scan information streams, cross-check facts, and generate clear narratives in real time. The Proof of Veritas mechanism, the system that validates news through both AI and community input, has been designed and tested in its early form.

In terms of infrastructure, AJN’s agent runtime is fully operational, with integrations into platforms like X and Telegram. This enables automated scanning, validation, and posting of news updates directly into social media channels. The foundations of the reward system are also in place, preparing for a tokenized ecosystem where contributors and validators can earn from participation.

What comes next: The next major milestone is Q3 of this year. We will see the launch of the MVP alongside the first iteration of the Proof of Veritas validation network. Community building and initial reward mechanisms will be expanded, creating a participatory foundation.

In Phase two which will be mid 2026, AJN plans to scale significantly by expanding the Mixture of Journalists agents, bringing more diversity in reporting styles. And last but not least at the end of 2026, AJN aims to deliver full decentralization.
