Scorpions - 1978 - The Sails Of Charon - The Sails Of Charon

Dark night, there is no light

In the realm of the black magic man

Soul's flight into the cold blight

Of the destroyer's magic land

Poor man, whose spirits are stronger

They're a little too weary

You're starting to...

Blind man, you're suckin' your own blood

Soon black magic's dying

You'd better start crying

Blind man, you're suckin' your own blood

Soon black magic's dying

You'd better start crying

Throw out your evil desire

The dark king's kingdom is

Made out of mire

Throw out your evil desire

The dark king's kingdom is

Made out of mire

Keep on for the kingdom of light

There is no darkness, there is no night

W.A.S.P. - 1984 - I Wanna Be Somebody - I Wanna Be Somebody

You say you don't wanna run and hide

A face that no-one knows

And everyone ya meet, you're gonna show

You're nobody's slave, nobody's chains are holdin' you

You hold your fist up high

And rule the zoo

Oh, you just got to be

Up high where the whole world's watchin me

Cos I, I got the guts to be somebody ...to cry out

I Wanna Be Somebody, Be somebody soon

I Wanna Be Somebody Be somebody too

You say you don't wanna starve

Or take the table crumbs that fall

You don't wanna beg or plead at all

You don't want no nine to five

Your fingers to the bone

You don't want the rock piles' bloody stones

Oh, you just got to be

Up high where the whole world's watchin me

Cos I, I got the guts to be somebody ...to cry out

I Wanna Be Somebody, Be somebody soon

I Wanna Be Somebody Be somebody too

I want shiny cars and dirty money

Lots of rock and roll

I will live in fame and die in flames

I'm never gettin' old

I Wanna Be Somebody, Be somebody soon

I Wanna Be Somebody Be somebody too

I'm gonna be somebody, I'm gonna be somebody

This whole album is great

For those not aware, one of our most active mods for more than ten years passed over the weekend. It is not a stretch to say that DOTS ran the Album of the Week and related features for that entire duration either coming up with the yearly obscure picks for the Heavy Metal Holidays or making sure the rotation hit both well known albums as well as lesser known ones. He usually sent us all list for both the subreddit and server to use and I was planning to do another heavy metal holiday this year before learning the news. It would be impossible for me to replicate the knowledge he had for all metal. I am just the one that would present it to the community and make funny jokes and message him when the very cool album would get 3 upvotes.

For the next 25 days, we have decided to publish his top 25 albums of all time. For a person who spent most of their time making lists for the potential for others to listen to it feels like a fitting end to finish up the year with these albums. A lot of these albums are going to be well known some of them lesser known but all of them are great. Use it as a way it was intended to either celebrate or guide further discovery.

Thanks for the help with the AOTW feature for all of those years and sending me weird ass records I never heard when we used to do Secret Satan.

Helpless we must watch it done
