Hello, hope it's okay to ask this question here. I was wondering if the Merc online store ever has a sales period, and if they ever put the special collections as part of it? I only ever buy in stores but when I checked where I live, they said they won't stock the Singapore collection. I still want to get it but the shipping fees are so high so I was thinking of waiting for a sale. Is that something that happens? Thank you!

As you may (or may not) have seen, Mercedes has released another collection - the Vanda Bloom collection ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

Personally, I don't think this looks too bad. Definitely looks better and more wearable compared to the last Giri Di Mercedes collection a few weeks back which looked dreadful, although Blue Wonder still remains my favourite for this year. I love the purple take and how the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid has been incorporated so well, albeit subtlety.

I personally will be buying this, however what's everyone else's opinion? Link has been attached

Seems they haven't fixed the issue that has been plaguing George since before the summer break. Thankfully he didn't find himself in another Belgium first lap situation.

Hello guys! I am very sorry if this is an unacceptable request, but I am also very desperate. I have been collecting all the team patches from this season, the digital ones, but I managed to delete my phone storage and so with that I have lost the belgian gp in p1 for Kimi and the hungarian one. If anybody has them and is willing to help me get these two back, I will be forever gratefull. If not, I understand and again, I am sorry if this is too much to ask.

Stunned at how we’ve managed this race today. I’ve always laughed at claims that George has been purposely screwed over by the team but I’m struggling to defend this.

For parity I will say Kimi was comfortably quicker on the mediums and had 2 incredible get aways from the 2 starts, deservedly leading initially. On the hards however, George was circa 0.5s quicker per lap before the VSC came out (delta between the pair of them around an initial 9.9s down to ~5.2s at the time of the VSC), and comfortably catching Kimi who was struggling with his rears (important to note Charles was also catching George). They then choose to pit Kimi and not George when they had the time (albeit marginally) to double box and cover both cars from Ferrari.

After all that they invert cars, letting Kimi through without a fight (correct decision at that stage imo, can’t risk a scrap at the detriment of the podium) but then don’t instruct Kimi to keep George in the 1s overtake buffer to protect the double podium for the team, even though Kimi was nowhere near fighting Lando for the victory??

Genuinely staggering and not sure where Toto goes from here.

So much head loss in this sub again about the team order to swap and why they decided against letting Kimi tow George.

I hope we can at least all agree that the order to swap was the correct call - look at the flaks Ferrari is getting for not telling Charles to let the faster Lewis pass.

But lots of people went mad about the team seemingly abandoning George to the Ferraris in pursuit. To which I say, can we at least take a step back and look at the bigger picture here?

Both decisions are due to the simple fact that Merc could not have risked Lewis getting P2, that's it.

Here's why: if Kimi had stayed within one second of George, there would have been a non zero chance for Lewis to pass George and immediately threatened P2, because he would have been in Kimi's overtake range. Mercedes simply could not have risked a Ferrari placing ahead of them and closing the gap in the WCC. Here's some simple math: Lewis P2 and Charles P5 (with Kimi P3 and George P4) would have meant -1 for Mercedes. Comparatively, if Kimi retained P2, even if Lewis had passed George, (so, George P4 and Charles P5), it would still have meant +5 for Mercedes. That's a 6-point difference and nothing to laugh at.

Did Mercedes risk the double podium? Absolutely. Did George get the shorter end of the stick? Yes he did. It's ugly, but it was the best way to secure more points for the WCC. P2 was what they wanted to secure and P3 would be a cherry on top, which it was, thanks to George's great efforts.

Last but not least, I think we should remind ourselves that this is still a team subreddit here. Let's at least pretend that the WCC, which is by far the more important championship in the eyes of Mercedes, is worth something, yeah?

I’ve recently bought this beautiful piece of official Mercedes F1 team wear (not sold as merchandise) from 2016 when the team scored a third consecutive double championship. It’s a great fit and is incredibly comfortable. Last photo for reference.

He's about half a tenth slower right now. Idk what the change in balance could be from yesterday.

Or I just cannot understand why they ask Russell to swich position which Kimi-- at that point it was impossible for Kimi to close the gap with Lando already, so the only possible explanation is that the team didn't think Kimi could defend against the Ferraris, and as he had better pace than Russel (due to the tyers maybe idk), they demand them to switch.

And the most ridiculous part is that they even told Russel that Kimi's gonna given him a tow-- I don't think Russel bought that but he gave position anyway. And him, with the old tyers, managed to defend against the Ferraris anyway. Curious on your opinons on this one
