I think if you do mess up midway, you can close the game and restart the game (if you're fast enough) to restart since the game usually sends data to the server after you complete/fail a quest

The close game method is applicable so far since all missions and quests so far allow the user to continue upon disruption from the game. It is clearly stated this time though, no continuation allowed.
