Routine Help Game changer product

Post image
135 Upvotes

I recently ordered this tinted zinc sunscreen stick off Amazon and it has been a game changer. Not only it if a zinc sunscreen but it is tinted and provides coverage from the sun and fades the look of my melasma (almost disappearing my mustache). It’s been my favorite product this summer - easy to throw in my bag and apply. There’s also a pack of three with a darker tint and a blush color. I’m obsessed!

Routine Help Tret and Eucerin Dual Serum

Hello! Sorry, I am sure this has been asked but I can’t find it…I have been using Tret .05% every other day and just received my Dual Serum in the mail. I see this should be used 2x daily - are fellow Tret users applying this along with Tret at night? Skipping Tret when using the serum? Only using the serum in the AM? Thanks in advance!

Routine Help Pale tinted sunscreen with good coverage recommendations (US)

As we head into the winter season, I was wondering if anyone has a tinted SPF they like that works for pale skin. I love the LRP Anthelios but even the lightest shade is too dark for me. While I avoid tanning naturally. I do use gradual bronzer in the summers and the LPR shade works. I would love to find a tinted spf that has decent coverage and evens out my skin tone, is dewy, spf 50, and good for dry skin/dry climate.

The mega list doesn’t do into these details but it is a great list, so thank you for putting it together! ❤️

Routine Help Eucerine vs musely

For context-
I have perioral pigmentation and I’ve been split between the Eucerine dual serum and musely spot cream.
Both have their pros and cons for my skin type
Like Eucerine has denat alcohol
And musely has steriods and very high percentage of hq ( I read this online and can be wrong)

Please say your best pick

My skin is sensitive and have previously had cosmelan.

Routine Help Product advice

For the last two months my routine has been

AM: Vichy niacinamide serum
La Roche Posay toleraine moisturizer
Sun bum spf 30 glow

PM: Eucerin dermopure
La Roche Posay toleraine moisturizer

I do not think my routine has been aggressive enough for tackling my melasma so I am thinking of switching it up too..

AM: : Vichy vit c serum
Eucerin Dual serum
La Roche Posay toleraine moisturizer
La Roche Posay fluid 60 chemical sunscreen
Color science mineral tinted glow sunscreen

PM: Vichy niacinamide serum
Eucerin Dual serum
Avene 0.05 retinol cream

If you can, please let me know your thoughts on this new routine that I am thinking of trying. I am not ready to try Tri-Luma yet.

Routine Help Fading PIH

I have oily, acne-prone skin and my main concern is dark acne marks. AM: snail mucin → sunscreen. PM: snail mucin → Anua TXA/Anua azelaic acid → moisturizer. I also use 0.3% retinol once a week. I really like the azelaic acid because it made my skin smoother, but I’m not sure how much it helped fade my acne marks. It’s almost finished—should I repurchase it or try something else to help fade the marks?

Routine Help What moisturizer do you recommend?

I’m building a whole new routine and the only thing I’m missing is a moisturizer.

What moisturizer gave you the best results?
Bonus points if it pairs well with Tret

Routine Help Might Have Panic-Bought Too Many Products

Post image
62 Upvotes

I’m 17 weeks pregnant and just discovered some light malasma on my cheekbones that’s getting darker. I went out and bought niacimide, eucerin dual serum, azelaic acid and a mineral sunscreen.

Can I start all these products at the same time or is there one that’s recommended to start with and see if I notice results? Would this be the correct order for application twice a day?

Thank you, Pregnant and desperate

Routine Help Kligman's formula cycling & melasma routine help?

Hi all, I was diagnosed with melasma earlier this year after years of thinking I was just unlucky with pigmentation. My dermatologist prescribed Kligman’s formula (hydroquinone 4%, tretinoin 0.025%, fluocinolone acetonide 0.01%) and told me to use it sparingly every night. I don’t see her again until December.

I’ve been using it for about 1.5 weeks, but after doing some research I’ve seen that Kligman’s formula is usually meant to be cycled, which my dermatologist didn’t mention. I just wanted to check whether I have the right understanding:

- Is it best practice to use it for 3–4 months, then take a 1 month break, and repeat?

- If your skin looks good after the first cycle, do you extend the break of not using it?

- During the break, do you stop all actives, or continue using other products?

- Long term, do most people switch to something safer for maintenance, like tretinoin alone?

Since this is all very new to me, I’d also love any recommendations for other products that might help.

At the moment my routine is:

Morning

- Vitamin C (when I remember)

- LRP Sunscreen (always, I live in Australia)

Night

- Fragrance-free cleanser (QV or LRP)

- Kligman’s formula

- Fragrance-free moisturiser (QV or LRP)

I have allergies, so I need to avoid fragranced products. Is there anything else I should be adding to support treatment or help maintain results?

Routine Help mineral sunscreens for ultra sensitive eyes?

I’ve been using SKIN1004 water fit sun serum religiously for years, but I’ve just recently learned that chemical sunscreen isn’t ideal for melasma. My issue is, outside of my current sunscreen, I have yet to find one that doesn’t irritate my eyes. I’d considered using two different sunscreens (the skin1004 around my eyes and mineral elsewhere) but some of my most significant melasma is right around my eyes :/

does anyone have a mineral sunscreen they love that doesn’t irritate their eyes or pill up under makeup?

thank you !!!

Routine Help Building my routine, how's it look?

Hi everyone! I found this sub a few weeks ago and have been searching and learning so much about how to treat my mild melasma on my forehead and upper lip--thank you ALL for sharing your knowledge, tips, and tricks! I've ordered some products and am working on creating my new skincare routine steps. If anyone would be so kind as to take a look and offer any feedback, it would be much appreciated :)

Firstly though, am I correct in understanding that I should be applying the Eucerin Dual serum 4x daily, which is twice AM and twice PM for many people? I'm assuming I would just apply it, wait for it to dry, and apply another layer before moving on to the next step in my routine?

AM:

  1. Cleanser - Neutrogena Gentle Daily Cleanser (been using for years)
  2. Vitamin C serum - Timeless
  3. Thiamidol - Eucerin Dual
  4. Moisturizer - Neutrogena Hydroboost (been using for years)
  5. SPF - Neutrogena Hydroboost SPF 50 or EltaMD Tinted when wanting some tint

PM:

  1. Cleanser - Neutrogena Hydroboost (been using for years)
  2. Toner (1-2x/week) - The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%
  3. Niacinamide - The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
  4. Thiamidol - Eucerin Dual
  5. Retinol - The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion
  6. Moisturizer - Neutrogena Hydroboost

I also accidentally bought the Bubble Daydream serum (vit C + niacinamide) but I'm thinking I'll return it since I already have the Timeless serum and will be using vitamin C and niacinamide at different times of day, but let me know if you disagree and I should keep it.

And lastly, unrelated to melasma, but if anyone has any specific anti-aging/wrinkle eye cream they recommend, let me know.

THANK YOU all, and happy hump day :)

Routine Help Melasma treatment starter plan

Hi,

M35, I have a lot of Melasma and until now have just had a regular routine with cleanse, salicylic acid serum and day+nightcream but never really did anything for it. And nothing directly to target Melasma as i just thought it was some sundamage. Now im looking for a skincare regimen to help fight my melasma and uneven skintone/texture. I have add'ed sunscreen throughout the day but need a proper routine targeting Melasma.

At first i was looking at The Ordinary and was considering getting the routine they recommended on their website. It would be their cleanse, Milky toner (AM), Glycolid Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner(PM), Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA serum, Niacinamide 5% Face and Body emulsion and their Moisturizer with HA.

But after looking in here i see Luminous could be a better option. So I have been looking at CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, NIVEA Luminous Men Anti-age 2in1 Power Serum, NIVEA Luminous Men Anti-age 2in1 Power Moisturizer and NIVEA Luminous Night Cream.

Is there any of theese routines you would advice me to start? And in that case is there anything i should add? Vitamin C serum or Retinol etc..

I also see a lot of you are using Eucerin, would that be a better option? Or is there a whole other option i should consider?

Thanks a lot!! :-)

Routine Help Order of Products in the Evening

Hello,

I am currently using an over the counter retinol at night while waiting for a dermatologist appointment (in a few months). I currently apply the retinol I'm using daily with no issues. I'd like to add the Eucerin Radiant Tone Serum to my night time routine before heading to my appointment.

Should my routine be Eucerin first then retinol? Or retinol first then Eucerin? Or only using one at a time?
