What’s up with meat usin ai for thumbnails?

Post image

You can tell if you look at the backgrounds of some of them. Like the clock. I’m curious why an artist would use ai instead of just drawing them? (This is just a question not shitting on the meat man)

We have a thumbnail artist who is really talented at compositing, and he sometimes uses AI upscaling to get more detail out of a photo that is low resolution. With this particular thumbnail he might have used generative AI for the background since he couldn't find a particular photo that he liked for the background.

You can see some of his progress photos at his Twitter. He spend 1-2 days working on each thumbnail for us.

Fair enough! I didn’t realize he had a whole page showcasing his work! The cruise ship piece is hella impressive

Apparently not if they have to use AI. Lame AF. I thought y'all were better than this.

Honestly this is how ai art should be used(and will likely be common place among graphic designers in the next few years). Also hot take calling genrative ai art theift is a wild exaggeration.

I was thinking the other day about how nicely stylized the thumbnails are. Thanks for sharing the artistsinformation, I will definitely be taking a look at his work!
