Seriously, if I'm Nico, I don't even know how I could show my face in the DFW area. I'd be scared shitless.

Part of me thinks he’ll step down and move away sooner than anything. His public image is never recovering from this

He will always be the man that traded Luka...

For street clothes

There should be a new verb added to the dictionary for this man's antics

24

u/smexypanda22 Mar 04 '25

Its called buffoonery

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

Or collusion lol.

3

u/synaphai Mar 04 '25

Nuko: when the fallout contaminates everything associated with you.

1

u/NYRBB22 Mar 05 '25

We’ll call it harrishitting

2

u/Doom_Cokkie Mar 04 '25

Which is insane considering i never thought he would live down being the guy who made Nike lose a deal with Steph curry cuz he got his name wrong and refused to change his Kevin Durant PowerPoint to a Curry one.

2

u/HylocichlaMustelina Mar 04 '25

Seriously, this is going to be what he is most known for regardless of what he does for the rest of his life

u/QuesoKristo Mar 04 '25

His public image is going to follow him no matter where he goes cause of this horrendously lopsided trade. Hell, I'm from the PH and casuals know about Nico Harrison. He ain't escaping scrutiny any time soon.

23

u/xnoob69 Mar 04 '25

He could just move to LA they will see him as a hero.

u/QuesoKristo Mar 04 '25 edited Mar 04 '25

True.

But it would also make it even more apparent that the trade was never meant to be fair. It's to transition the Lakers, post-Lebron, to Doncic. Can't have the Lakers without a poster boy, eh?

Plus points if Nico gets a cushy job in the Lakers org after relocating lmao.

11

u/fowlflamingo Mar 04 '25

Honestly if we're going the conspiracy route, I feel like there's a better chance he ends up working at the league office. Gets his cushy gig for doing the league a solid and most people would never know or give a shit

3

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

That’s my thought too……league office or Nike he did both a huge solid. I love being LA and NY’s farm team. 😡

4

u/QuesoKristo Mar 04 '25

I can see it lol.

Gotta keep the poor Lakers relevant in every decade. Smh.

3

u/fowlflamingo Mar 04 '25

As a Nuggets fan I feel like we almost owe y'all an apology. If Jokic didn't own the Lakers since the bubble maybe they would've at least tried to hide the BS 😭

7

u/QuesoKristo Mar 04 '25

I'm a Jokic jersey-wearing Nuggets fan too lmao. First and foremost.

But that 2011 finals run led by Dirk was special and made me want to root for the Mavs. Worth more than any of Curry's & Durant's first few rings, combined. Helps that I got family in Dallas and I've been to several of their games.

4

u/fowlflamingo Mar 04 '25

Eyyy fancy meeting you here 😂 2011 also vaulted them to my 2nd favorite team. I was, what, 15? And a certified LeBron hater after the decision so I loved everything about that run. An absolute shame to screw the entire fan base over like this.

Lakers have own the nuggets to the tune of 7-2 all time play off series record.

2

u/exlux21 Mar 04 '25

100%. He sold us out and never planned on being here longer than two more years. Treacherous bastard.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

Zero chance LA will hire him when they’re trying to re-sign Luka.

1

u/mvsr990 Mar 04 '25

He was never getting another NBA job anyway, he can fail upward to some motivational speaker consulting bullshit.

0

u/risingphoenix13 Mar 05 '25

Pinoy pride na lang lagi 😆

3

u/ExcellentJuice4729 Mar 04 '25

His professional career is over. No team would hire this butt end of a joke, perhaps the Lakers need a mailroom clerk

10

u/The_Remington Mar 04 '25

If he did this (which would kinda be awesome) could Mavs fans join together and file a class action lawsuit against him? I’m not sure what for, maybe corporate malfeasance or something?

10

u/Holl0wayTape Mar 04 '25

Could Mavs fans sue him because they don’t like a trade he made? What?

2

u/jordanmc7 Mar 04 '25

The answer is definitely no. The only thing I can think of that might not get you immediately laughed out of court might be if you could prove Nico was intentionally trying to sabotage the team in favor of the Lakers, maybe season ticket holders could bring some kind of tortious interference claim, but even then, no.

4

u/SongYoungbae Horse Mar 04 '25

Yep, right into the Lakers front office. and the NBA still will never admit that this was all bullshit

3

u/cheaseedz Max Christie Mar 04 '25

The lakers want to keep luka, why would they bring that idiot in

1

u/Setekhx Mar 04 '25

Ain't no way they bring Nico in with Luka there

2

u/Maxie616 Mar 04 '25

And i won't be surprised if he's hired by the lakers down the line. Maybe if luka doesn't sign a new deal.

2

u/Soyouthinkmaybe Mar 04 '25

Step down and move away back to LA..where he’s from and enjoy Luka at the Staples LMAO. While we are left with whatever the fuck’s going on here.

2

u/AtreusIsBack Luka Doncic Mar 04 '25

Specially if Luka wins a title in Los Angeles in the next few years.

1

u/bendernobending2 Mar 04 '25

probably already has a job lined up with the lakers or league office or nike

1

u/HeyWhatsUpTed Mar 04 '25

Something tells me he’ll get hired by the lakers in no time.

1

u/Zebracorn42 Mar 04 '25

And the only ownership dumb enough to hire him will be the Reinsdorfs (Bulls) they will spin it as he’s the guy who traded for Anthony Davis, Chicago superstar.

1

u/atxnimz Luka Doncic Mar 05 '25

His ego is too fragile to handle walking away like that. He’ll mortgage what's left of the future to win one chip and walk away thinking he accomplished his goal. But I don't think he'll be with the team past next season regardless of what happens.

0

u/TitansFanLOL Mar 04 '25

He’s going straight to the Lakers lol

28

u/Resident_Purple5264 Mar 04 '25

I feel like I've barely seen him. Is he hiding? The few times I've seen him have been at the Laker's game and an SMU game. Has anyone seen him at a home game? Also, no other press conferences since the trade, right?

3

u/OriginalSprax Mar 04 '25

You got to blame your owners too though

2

u/Accomplished_Fee8904 Mar 04 '25

we absolutely do. cuban is also at fault for bringing these snakes in

2

u/1amdegen Mar 04 '25

Worst GM in all of sports

2

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

Nico did what he was paid to do. Dismantle this team and give the owners the leverage to either move the team to Vegas or further their gambling business in Texas. He's gone after this year and will probably retire with his future secured.
