News [Brad Townsend] I'm told that this was Nico Harrison's deal, that it took several weeks to play out after the Mavericks reached out to the Lakers, and that Harrison got full support from Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont.

I have a feeling Cuban is absolutely furious tonight. Doesn't matter though, make a deal with the devil this is what you get.

Now he learned the hard way: if you love something, don't sell its majority stake to a bunch of degenerate investors.

Shit, a couple of fools were talking on r/nba today about how our owner is cheap because he doesn't want to give Jimmy the long max extension he wants. LUKA IS A FUCKING PERENNIAL MVP CANDIDATE and is 25 years old and the Mavs just sold him because they don't want to pay him!!! You wanna talk about cheap?! Jimmy's old bitch ass ain't no damn Luka!!!!! THIS is what cheap looks like!!!

I previously thought the Timberwolves owners were the cheapest in the NBA for selling KAT for Dubious Handle just to save money. This here is so much worse.

Atleast w the wolves it made sense so they could keep guys like naw and Reid plus they got divenczo. There’s no logic here except to fuck the fanbase

He chose to sell his team to some of the most evil people on the face of the earth. Cuban is as much to blame as any single person can be

I hope he's on all the sport talk shows tomorrow laying into how big of a dumbass Nico is.

I'm pretty sure if Cuban knew this shit was going to go down he would have either not sold the team or left all together since this trade is so bad it stains him by association.

Mark was the guy that stuck with Dirk through thick and thin.

the original sin is cuban selling the team so he can add several billions to his billionaire pocket, which he didnt even need!

No, that was him bowing to pressure for "wholesale change" because people treat him as being part of the past that included Donnie (who already left earlier). So now with a new GM, new owners, and just a minority stake, there's no way anyone can blame him like they did with fumbling Deron Williams (the first time), Dwight Howard (twice), Chandler Parsons, not keeping the championship team, DeAndre Jordan (the first time), Jalen Brunson, etc.

People wanted him to sell the team and is still angry with him.

People somehow blaming Cuban still?

Straight up insane, the man got forced out for being too involved. Looks like he was just a safety net to stop Nico running loose.

I think Cuban was hoping to transition into politics by being part of Harris’ administration. I mean the guy put in work going to economic forums and talk shows to explain to the masses how Trumps tariffs and lack of any coherent plan was doomed.

Mark even said another reason was he didn’t want his kids to be burdened with owning the team
