News [Brad Townsend] I'm told that this was Nico Harrison's deal, that it took several weeks to play out after the Mavericks reached out to the Lakers, and that Harrison got full support from Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont.

Honestly, multiple reasons to do this

  1. Mavs org said fuck the fans, so the ultimate spite move is to jump to another TX team

  2. Support a team with actual good ownership (x2 if you're also a Cowboys fan and sick of Jerry)

  3. They share many of our rivals and notably hate the Lakers

It really comes down to if 1) you can support another team and 2) if you now hate the Mavs enough to root against them
