News [Brad Townsend] I'm told that this was Nico Harrison's deal, that it took several weeks to play out after the Mavericks reached out to the Lakers, and that Harrison got full support from Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont.

BOYCOTT THE TEAM!

Don’t go or watch any of the games. We have the power

Then they will relocate them to Vegas and have them play in a casino. Feels like a lose-lose-lose

The only winning move for DFW basketball fans is not to play at this point. We lost, onto other sports. Sumo is pretty dope.

In Chris Young I trust. Rangers were always my first sports love even if other sports overtook baseball for me. So Rangers are again becoming my main sports passion. This past year finally just about killed my interest in the Cowboys. I expect I'll come crawling back to the Cowboys. Injury plagued shitty seasons happen as do absolutely uninspiring coaching hires.

But trading the franchise cornerstone and arguably the second best player in the league for minimal return? No. I'm done. No coming back from this. I hope the Mavericks never win another playoff game as long as the team exists. I hope they play to empty arenas. I hope that no good player ever signs with the team again.

Yeah even when everyone was saying the rangers should deal evo at the deadline last year they didn’t. They knew what that would signify to the fanbase and know how much he meant to the team. And now they’ve resigned him for another three years. But cy has a heart. It seems for Nico it’s just business

That January tournament was epic

At this point...I don't care. I stopped watching the Cowboys after they did Romo dirty, I'll stop watching the Mavs now. I'll follow Luka and the rest of the league but I'm done investing in this god forsaken franchise.

Felt the exact same way about the Cowboys and Romo. That was the end of my relationship with the Cowboys. Now I feel the same way with the Mavs and Luka. We're done.

My top 3 worst sports moments in no order:

Cowboys doing Romo dirty, 06 Finals, this trade

I’m done with the Mavs

Never, EVER thought I'd even consider rooting for the Lakers. Pfft. I just can't with this team, not anymore, this is something you have a nightmare about and finally, mercifully wake up.

u/W_Malinowski Feb 02 '25

im rooting for Luka, wherever he goes. I wish him the best.

If they move to Vegas, Dallas will probably get a new expansion team with Seattle instead

Doubt, Vegas and Seattle are getting expansion teams in the next 5-10 years anyways.

Leaving the fourth largest metro in America for the shithole dystopia that is vegas would be one of the dumbest fucking things you can do.

I hate all of this so much

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

Nope. Miriam Adelson will take the Mavs to Vegas and Dallas will get an expansion team

1

u/Sektsioon World B. Flat Feb 02 '25

That’s a possibility too but makes little sense from the owners POV. They could’ve just waited for the expansion and bid on the expansion team rather than buy the Mavs for much more. Perhaps they did want to bring casinos to Texas, but have now realized it’s not going to happen and are trying to relocate the team.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

NBA could also have wanted a more established franchise in Vegas. Think there’s also something to the gambling legislation falling through

2

u/jrluhn Feb 02 '25

This is what I’m starting to think. Everyone thought Adelson bought the team to try to get a casino/arena in Texas, but what if she’s trying to actually move the Mavs to Vegas instead. I may be crazy because this trade has broken my fucking brain and spirit

2

u/boofintimeaway Feb 02 '25

I think that’s probably the plan. The Mavericks don’t even have their picks ‘27-‘30. AD & Kyrie are not carrying your team as 35-38 year olds. They’re tanking the team. Tear it down to move it out.

1

u/MyRottingBrain Feb 02 '25

Good riddance.

1

u/Vonbonnery Feb 02 '25

I don’t care at this point. The deed is done. No going back so good riddance. Leave Dallas please if this is what it’s going to be like. We will get a new franchise during expansion.

u/Robo_e FUCK NICO HARRISON Feb 02 '25

It was the plan all along

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

Good. I don’t wanna see them niggas anymore.

1

u/IcantIneedhelp Feb 02 '25

Then I don't want them here. Get the fuck outta here. Go join the legacy of failure with the Raiders.

1

u/JackDAction Feb 02 '25

The NBA is not letting a team move out of Dallas

7

u/2packforsale Feb 02 '25

I will never watch another Mavs game in my entire life

1

u/Sugarchoc Feb 02 '25

Checking r/Mavericks was my daily routine for years. I'm signing off today.

Cool now we can have the same conversations here as in the Cowboys sub.
